[APP][Pro] HomeDeck – your whole home on one screen, in 3D and as a live floor plan (test version)

Update: 0.2.0 is on the test channel, and Floor Plan Dashboard is now called HomeDeck

This is the biggest update so far. It is still a test version, so all feedback is more than welcome, even if it is only “it works”.

Install: HomeDeck | Homey

It is the same app with a new name. Your plans and settings stay. From this version you can export everything in the editor under Backup, and the app also makes a copy of its own before each update.

What is new

  • The dashboard opens on your house in 3D, with its energy. You set that up under House in the editor. Prefer to start with a storey? Choose that under the gear, per screen.
  • The Energy page is part of the app. If you already have Energy Dashboard, the Energy button opens that app, and nothing changes there.
  • Solar panels can lie on one roof half or on both, such as east-west.
  • At the top only what needs attention, and there is an “I’m leaving” check.
  • Buttons for moods and Flows, night clock, doorbell, alarm, climate per room, who is home, media, vacuum, lists and the meals of the week.
  • Lamps fade on and off.
  • The left bar of the editor has labels, and there is a quick start from your Homey zones.
  • Rooms can have any shape: pull a blue plus on the edge, or choose Make L-shaped.
  • There is now a manual: homey-floorplan-dashboard/docs/manual.md at main · WNijhof/homey-floorplan-dashboard · GitHub

What changed

  • There is one 2.5D view left, the higher one. If you used one of the other two, your screen or widget switches to it by itself.
  • Furniture from one model set stood back to front and has been turned around. If you turned a piece by hand, it may now stand the wrong way. Select it and turn it back.
  • The house has a smooth dark facade by default. You can choose brick or white plaster under House.
  • Dimmable devices now count as lamps, even when their app reports them as a socket.

How to start

  1. Update the app with the link above.
  2. Open the editor, choose House and set up your home: type, roof, direction of the front and solar panels.
  3. Do you have a level for the rest, such as garden or basement? Name it Other or Basement, for example, and it does not count as a storey of the house.

Please help

I have not been able to try this on many different Homeys yet. I would especially like to hear how this works for you:

  • the speed on your tablet
  • moods, Flows, doorbell and alarm
  • the Energy page without Energy Dashboard
  • the widget on a Homey dashboard

If something is wrong with a device, use “Report a problem” (the ! at the top right of the dashboard) and send the report by mail or private message, not in this topic.
