[APP][Pro] - Aquaro Smart Water Monitor - The Easiest Way to Save Water, One Drop at a Time

The Aquaro app integrates your Aquaro Smart Water Monitor with Homey, enabling real-time monitoring of water flow and consumption.

Features: • View live water flow rate in liters per minute. • Track cumulative water usage in cubic meters. • Receive instant water leak alarms. • Monitor sensor battery level and wireless signal (RSSI). • Adjustable calibration for accurate readings. • Set a minimum flow threshold to avoid counting small drips.

Optional - install fantastic app Power By the Hour to get detailed water usage statistic

HOW TO SETUP :

  • install Aquaro HUB and sensor, according to the vendor instructions
  • in the Aquaro mobile app set in the Settings –> Homes –> your home –> MQTT Homey Assistant Integration - that one shall point to your MQTT Server (external or eg. MQTT-Broker or MQTT-Server by Athom running on your Homey)
  • you must have MQTT Client installed, which is connected to the MQTT Server (eg. MQTT-Client)
  • then add new device, after installing Aquaro Smart Water Monitor app

Please also note that this is Community based app and I’m not anyhow affiliated with Aquaro brand or sponsored by them.

Please note :

  • AI analysis of the consumption is not implemented as of 02/2026 by Aquaro

  • if battery state of the sensor is not available, it’s issue with the sensor - verify using another MQTT Client which kind of messages are being sent by the sensor

  • some of the previous sensors were reporting incorrectly cumulative reading of the water consumption, for adjustment of this behavior, see Sensor settings :

  • in case you will need to replace your sensor, you can easily change the Aquaro Device ID

  • in the setting, you can set also the current meter value / actual consumption

  • first batches of sensors were not able to correctly detect ZERO flow, so that’s why I have implemented minimal flow and duration, for which the consumption will start counting (if you don’t have such issues, simply reset that to 0)

  • I have my sensor installed aprox. 10m away in 3 meter deep concrete inspection chamber and even the RSSI is weak (lowest -86dBm, best -81dBm), it works quite well

    1. 2026 - Fixed MQTT topic parsing for prefixed paths, prevented invalid negative cumulative packets from resetting meter values
