Wyze Support

There is a way to connect Wyze Cams on Homey or maybe if someone is working on it?. Thanks.

If there is no app at the app store for the Wyze cam then it will not work.
The Wyze cams are also not supported by Onvif (article from year 2020) so that app for Homey will proberly also not work.

You can make a request for a new app if you want.

If it wasn’t made already (which it is already), so only showing support by liking the post is possible in that request post.

I saw something in there that I could send a camera feed to the dashboard, not sure which app it was, but im gonna try it as I have a bunch of cameras up, and ill let you know if it works. if anyone has done it, and has pointers, im all ears!

Apparently Wyze is making a move into RTSP. They realized a beta for v3 and pamv3 cams and testing the new feature on the app as well. It seems to be ready for release by Dec25. Hopefully is not the end and they continue towards implementing matter 1.5 too.

I’ve been waiting too long for this, so with the risk of bricking my cameras, I’m about to test the beta firmware and the integration to homey through the native virtual devices (ip camera).

Ok, didn’t brick the camera. I enabled rtsp and all good, I can see the feed. I need further testing to confirm the firmware is ok, but seems fine for now.

Unfortunately, this is all I could do. I forgot that the native virtual up camera device from homey does not allow a rtsps url, just http.

Still thanks for going out your way and testing this  appreciated!

EDIT:

Let’s inform about this; RTSP for v3 and Pan v3 - Beta - Wyze Forum
Perhaps other people a bit more rtsp/ip camera oriented can get the ball rolling to support this.
I would love having the Wyze feeds available in my dashboard (setup on an old Ipad with kiosk mode)

Hope they will support v4 and v4 pan as well though as I update most of them a while back.

Beside all of that I would love a native integration by Wyze even more. But well … not sure that will ever happen.

Btw, I just saw the homey update for virtual IP cameras. It now allows rtsp so I will test it shortly.

Cool let me know if things work out

Patrick good news, it works with the beta firmware. I’ve read that the new firmware is being released in a staggered approach. I’ve haven’t received the update OTA on my camera yet but I can see the RTSP function in the normal Wyze app. So I’m doing this with the camera I have on beta.

Just to clarify, it works with RTSP and not with RTSPS. And make sure the link have a / at the end because the one that provides the app does not have it.

I.e., rtsp://username:password@192.168.1.39:554/stream0/

Ah nice to hear, once again thanks for being so kind as to commet, always appreicated.

Yeah it seems they (The Wyze Team) are phasing it out to v2, v3 first , I surely hope they make it available for v4 as well.

Great to hear that you also see RTSP in the normal Wyze app as there has been a bunch of talk about using the beta Wyze app. So that surely sounds like progress

For quick reference; you had to manually flash your cam with the fimware right?
OTA (over the air) would be Wyze offering that update in the app, so that has not happend yet. But it seems to be rolling along.

The format kinda is what I would suspect, nothing strange.

Keep us posted in developments if you don’t mind.

Good to hear you got it working. I tried what you have listed for the link. It doesn’t work for me. I had 322 instead of 554. Still no go.

Running v4.36.16.5055 beta on Wyze v3

Thank you

Just remember to user your username and password and your camera IP. And restart homey and the cam just in case… it did not work immediately for me.
