I’m struggling with connections to vendors via app.. Some products are not supported e.g. Aqara (new doorbell G410 is missing) or Nous (A8M / Matter plug is missing) although the apps. are official. Is it now Homey who should take care or the vendor?
P.S.: Nous has already answered: only Zigbee is supported, but this can’t be the case, agree? Connection was possible through Technologie, but e.g. Power consumption is not available.
Hi Stephan, the app developer decides which devices are supported. “Who should do that?” is a bit ambiguous. It’s more a matter of choice in all cases, even it’s Athom or the third-party developer.
This may be due to the following reasons:
– The Nous SmartPlug A8M isn’t officially Matter certified (Nous is responsible)
– The firmware of the Nous SmartPlug A8M isn’t up to date (Nous is responsible)
– The Homey Matter implementation isn’t up to date (Athom is responsible)
This is currently also the case with the Homey Aqara app. It only supports Zigbee devices, and the Aqara G410 doorbell must be connected via WiFi.
Note: Homey doesn’t support live stream videos right now.
I agree with that in principle, but Athom or the app developer decides which devices are to be supported. So we users can’t really change anything about that.
Tip: First check which devices are supported by Homey, and then put together your smart home based on that.
Info: Athoms Matter implementation isn’t definitely up to date (In my opinion, it’s Matter version 1.2 with a few additional features) AND the Homey Pro (early 2023) and the Homey mini are not Matter certified either!
