The timeout message, did you get it when trying to save changes is this screen? Because that is normal for battery powered devices. You first need to wake the device by pressing the button on the motion sensor, just before saving changes.
I see that the motion reset delay is set to 120 seconds. This means that after a motion is sensed, the next 2 minutes the sensor is disabled. Not sure how you are testing the flow, but this might influence its behavior. If you change it to a lower number, like 30 seconds, does this work? Make sure to wake up the motion sensor, before saving the change.
