Introduction

The F3 Pro-G is much more than a normal four-gang Zigbee wall switch. It combines four real relay outputs and four physical buttons with a touchscreen that has pages for lights, covers, scenes, time and weather.

I did not want to route it through Tuya Cloud, MQTT or Home Assistant. I wanted to see how far I could take it with Homey Pro using only local Zigbee communication.

When I started, Homey had no native driver for the exact Zigbee fingerprint of my panel. It could only be paired as an unsupported Zigbee device, so the review quickly turned into a reverse-engineering and driver-development project as well.

Update — 25 August 2026: When this project began, the exact Zigbee fingerprint of my panel had no native Homey driver. I later discovered that Zemismart had added the F3 Pro Smart Panel to its official Homey app. I noticed this only after publishing the review, so I am correcting the article for transparency. For new installations, I recommend trying the official Zemismart Homey app first.

The Homey app shown throughout this article was developed independently and remains available through the Test channel for development, comparison and devices reporting _TZE284_idn2htgu. It is not an official Zemismart app.

Official Homey support — update

The F3 Pro Smart Panel is now listed as a supported Zigbee device in Zemismart’s official Homey app. The official app page lists F3 Pro Flow cards for scene-button events, virtual LED and cover events, relay control, panel-time synchronization, refreshing panel data, assigning panel slots and names, and sending weather values.

During this project, I shared my first working Homey proof of concept, the source-code repository and my technical findings with Zemismart. The company confirmed that this material had been forwarded to its engineering team. I was genuinely pleased to later see the F3 Pro listed in the official app. I see this as a very positive example of Zemismart listening to user feedback, taking the Homey community seriously and continuing to improve its product support. Most importantly, official support is now available for the benefit of all Homey users.

I have not yet removed my installed panel and re-paired it with the official driver. The detailed tests and screenshots in this article therefore still describe my independent Test build. Once I have tested the official driver on the same physical unit, I will share the comparison.

Pairing note: Changing a Zigbee device from one driver to another may require removing and re-pairing it, followed by rebuilding device-specific Flows.

Install the independent Homey Test version

Version 0.10.0 is now available for testing on Homey Pro running Homey OS 12.2.0 or newer:

This first Test release is for the F3 Pro-G variant reporting Model ID TS0601 and manufacturer name _TZE284_idn2htgu. Communication is direct and local over Zigbee; Tuya Cloud, MQTT, Home Assistant and a second Zigbee coordinator are not required.

It is still a Test release, so please check the exact fingerprint of your device before pairing and expect that development will continue.

Hardware and wiring

The front of the panel is divided into a large touchscreen on the left and four physical metal-finish buttons on the right. The display can show four switch tiles and scene shortcuts on the same page.

The rear terminals are labelled N(in), L(in) and Output 1–4. The label on my unit specifies Zigbee 3.0, AC 110–220 V at 50–60 Hz and “Single 500W”. A neutral conductor is required.

This is a mains-powered product. Installation and load selection should be handled by a qualified electrician and must follow local electrical regulations.

Zigbee identification

The tested unit reports the following Zigbee information:

  • Product: Zemismart F3 Pro-G
  • Model ID: TS0601
  • Manufacturer name: _TZE284_idn2htgu
  • Main endpoint: 1
  • Tuya manufacturer-specific cluster: 0xEF00
  • Additional undocumented cluster: 0xED00
  • Physical outputs: L1, L2, L3 and L4

The manufacturer name matters here. Many completely unrelated Tuya products also identify themselves as TS0601, so matching this panel by Model ID alone would be unsafe.

I first interviewed the device and compared its Tuya datapoints with the available Zigbee2MQTT implementation. The Homey driver that came out of this work talks directly to the panel over Zigbee. In normal use there is no Tuya gateway, cloud account, MQTT broker, Home Assistant instance or second Zigbee coordinator involved.

Native Homey Test build

The current Homey Test build is version 0.10.0 and adds the F3 Pro as a dedicated Homey device.

The driver currently implements:

  • Four independent physical relay controls for L1–L4
  • Screen backlight control
  • Eight scene-button Flow triggers
  • Panel-side relay, LED, cover and scene names
  • Four virtual LED slots
  • Four virtual cover slots
  • Direct scene assignments
  • Panel clock synchronization
  • Weather data preparation and synchronization
  • Serialized Zigbee commands with retry handling

Direct Homey device assignment

My main goal was to make the screen useful as a real Homey room controller. The app therefore has its own Settings page where I can choose which Homey devices each panel slot should control.

These direct assignments do not need a separate Flow. I can still use the matching Homey Flow triggers for more advanced actions or scenes involving several devices.

Weather station integration

The weather section can use a selected Homey device as its temperature and humidity source. In my setup I selected a WS90 weather station and its standard measure_temperature and measure_humidity capabilities.

The application can combine the sensor values with Homey weather conditions. A backup refresh interval as low as 30 seconds is available. The screenshot below shows a packet prepared for the panel with 26.5 °C, 57% humidity and a light-rain condition.

Weather and timezone handling needed quite a bit of additional protocol work. This is one of the areas where official Zemismart documentation and more testing across firmware versions would help most.

Virtual LED controls

Each of the four virtual LED slots can be assigned to a Homey light. When supported by the selected light, the panel can control power, brightness and white color temperature.

The color-temperature direction and the ends of the slider needed special handling. The current mapping follows the panel’s 1% warm to 100% cold direction and avoids endpoint values that some Homey light drivers acknowledge without actually applying to the lamp.

RGB hue and saturation are not claimed because the confirmed panel datapoints expose brightness and white color temperature, not a complete RGB control model.

Virtual cover controls

A virtual cover slot can be assigned directly to a Homey blind, curtain or rolling shutter. It supports open, stop, close and percentage positioning when the selected Homey device exposes the corresponding capabilities.

Different cover motors interpret position and direction differently. For that reason, each slot has a direction option. The driver also separates Homey’s semantic Open/Close commands from the panel’s raw Tuya direction values, keeping the phone application, physical panel and actual shutter aligned.

Scene buttons

The panel exposes eight virtual scene buttons. A scene button can directly toggle or control one Homey device, while a Flow trigger can be used for multi-device automations.

In practice this works well: a simple action needs no Flow, while Homey Advanced Flow remains available for a complete multi-device room scene.

Development findings and fixes

This was definitely not plug-and-play. I had to observe several behaviours on the real panel and then correct them in the driver:

  • Homey initially identified the panel only as an unsupported Zigbee device.
  • The four physical relays had to be mapped to their confirmed Tuya datapoints.
  • Cover direction initially differed between the physical panel and the Homey mobile interface.
  • LED white-temperature direction and endpoint behavior required device-specific conversion.
  • Weather packets and timezone synchronization required separate protocol handling.
  • Fast and simultaneous Zigbee writes needed to be serialized and retried safely.
  • The purpose of cluster 0xED00 remains unknown, so the driver logs it passively instead of assigning guessed functionality.

I chose not to expose functions that I could not confirm on the real hardware. I would rather leave an option out than copy an unexplained Tuya value into Homey and present it as a working feature.

What I like

For its price, I especially like how much hardware is included. Even if it were used simply as a four-gang wall switch with a touchscreen, I would still find it an attractive product.

  • The combination of four real relays and a touchscreen dashboard
  • Four physical buttons remain available alongside the display
  • Flexible pages for switches, scenes, covers and lights
  • Local Zigbee communication is possible without a cloud dependency
  • Panel names can make the interface understandable for the whole household
  • The hardware can do much more than a normal four-gang wall switch

What could be improved

  • The exact F3 Pro-G fingerprint did not have native Homey support when testing began
  • Manufacturer-specific Tuya datapoints are not officially documented
  • Advanced display functions such as custom images remain inaccessible
  • Weather and timezone behavior would benefit from clearer firmware documentation
  • Installation requires neutral wiring and professional mains-electricity precautions
  • The official app page does not currently document the exact supported Zigbee fingerprints or firmware differences for the F3 family

What I would like from Zemismart

I think the F3 Pro-G could become an excellent Homey room controller. The most useful next step would be technical information from Zemismart about:

  1. The complete and versioned Tuya datapoint table
  2. The purpose and command format of cluster 0xED00
  3. Weather, timezone and forecast behavior across firmware versions
  4. The protocol for custom screen and screensaver images
  5. Any supported doorbell or camera-screen functionality
  6. Fingerprints and protocol differences for other F3-family panels

That information would make it possible to turn this reverse-engineered driver into broader and much easier-to-maintain support for the F3 product family.

@Zemismart_Official, if you can share any of this technical information, I would be happy to keep improving the Homey driver and extend support to other F3 panels.

Conclusion

After spending time with it, I do not see the F3 Pro-G as just another wall switch. The combination of four relay outputs, four physical buttons and the touchscreen gives it real potential as a Homey room controller.

It was not a plug-and-play Homey product for my fingerprint when I began testing. The driver now shows that relay control, scenes, direct Homey light and cover assignments, backlight control, naming, weather data and clock synchronization can all work locally over Zigbee.

For a new installation, I recommend trying Zemismart’s official Homey app first. My independent Homey Test version remains available for development, comparison and testing of panels with the matching _TZE284_idn2htgu fingerprint. I still consider this one of the most interesting Zemismart panels I have tested.
