I have a couple of door sensors from Sonoff and I have a problem. The doors that opens and closes they are working as they are supposed to.
But the ones used on sliding doors and the garage door sometimes register the door as open even though it’s closed. The magnetic sensor is maximum 10mm away from the sensor and it’s centred as the markings shows. If I open the door and closes it again it registers the door as closed
I’m guessing they’re not good with sliding doors or does anyone have a tip fixing the problem?
Maybe someone has a tip on a flawless product?
Perhaps it helps if the door approaches the sensor differently; try turning the sensor 90°.
I’ve four Sonoff SNZB-04 contact sensors (via zigbee2mqtt), and they turn out to be flaky, just like you describe. With usual opening/closing doors (no sliding doors here). They’re very cheap / the cheapest as well.
I’ve also four Aqara MCCGQ11LM (lumi.sensor_magnet.aq2) contact sensors, and these are 99.9% accurate, so highly recommended for their functionality. I recently purchased another 8 of those!
Note: You should be aware of the fact the Aqara and Homey zigbee combination can have unexpected behaviour, specifically when you’ve paired Ikea zigbee lights to Homey as well which are within reach of the Aqara sensors.

I tried. It’s still 50/50.
The one above is from my home security. It’s 100% but it’s a bit slower via Homey.
