Do you have any brief instructions on doing the ADB part?
E.g what apps to use on the TV and phone etc.

Any plans to provide a feedback mechanism? i.e. post a question and provide an answer using the TV remote control?

I have now worked out how to do this and it has solved the issue. I am now seeing messages on my TV.

If anyone else wants some guidance (I accept no responsibility for these instructions) I found this page gave me the solution to enable adb on my TV:

I then downloaded the command line tool for the PC from:

Then I opened a command prompt on my PC, set the path location to the folder where I had extracted the tools (cd \Temp\platform-tools), then entered the command given by rogro82.
I had to accept the connection on the TV to allow my PC to connect to it.

Hope that helps anyone else that wants to try.

Hi all,
I was looking for such a project. It is very promising indeed. Thank you for your effort!

Unfortunately my SONY TV has currently no internet connection and my Smartphone cannot access to “Android TV”-Playstore to download and sideload the app.

Can someone please kindly send me the latest APK file so I can test this app?

App is back in the app-store. IF you get an error like [Incompatible_app_version] and you’r on the Homey V3 versions, please make sure you are on the latest Homey version (3.1.0).

What is the difference between

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/nl.rogro82.pipup
and
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.rogro82.pipup
?

I have realized that I am not getting the image on the TV. The message is displayed on the TV and the image is appearing on my phone so I am pretty sure it’s available. The image is captured by my Ring doorbell and the Ring app from Dennie de Groot.
I am using the send notification with the image in a tag.
I’m not sure what size the image is but does the width setting have to match or should it scale it to fit?

Hi Adrian,
I have that same behavior too!!
When I use another tag it will show the image on my tv.
The ring tag is received as an image when i send it by email !
So both seem to work, but maybe the structure of the ring tag is something different.
Both apps are awesome!!!

I think the first link is to sign up to the testing program and the second link goes to the test app in the store.

@rogro82 made a fix for the image tags not showing a pic. Could u guys plz test this and let us know?

Hi,
I just installed v1. 05 and I do notice the fix. Before the test flow would not even show the test icon and now it does, so that’s awesome.
Unfortunately I am not able to test it with Ring, but my guess is that it will work now too.
Thanks for this nice update Roco and Rob, many thanks!!!
