Matter OTA Updates

Strange. Try to remove the battery for 10 seconds and put it back. Give him 30 Seconds to reconnect to the network and try to update. If it does not work, wait another 30 Seconds and try again. Homey does not show availability reliable. Hope that helps.

Followed your procedure again but still no result. Homey also restarted. Device is only 2 meters away from Homey. Device is on 1.0 and Homey is showing 1.7 is available for update.

I got one Ikea device to update, but not the others. I believe it is a Homey problem, but as soon as you blame Homey you are told that the problem is on your side.

Same here. After several attempts my scroll wheel button updated. The dual button got to 78% a couple of times but since then doesn’t connect at all or connects for a second then fails. Definitely a Homey issue imho.

Back in this topic…it takes time but right now i teach in a new MYGGBETT sensor in my smart home system und afterwards i made the update to v1.1.4

For the test is used: MacBookAir / Homey Pro 2026 V13.5.0 / New MYGGBETT Sensor with software v1.0.9 model type E2492 (The old model, Ikea brings a new model right now on the market with better hardware to solve existing problems)

  1. Teach the sensor directly into Homey Thread-Matter Network
  2. Configuration directly in the homey system
  3. Start the update process directly in Homey, the sensor was nearly Homey, approx.Bluetooth range
  4. The sensor was at the beginning off, no alarm, Reader have contact with transponder
  5. After 5% from the Update process i activated the sensor, Reader have no contact with the transponder, alarm was now on till the end of the update process
  6. In this situation the update run stable trough without any breakdown till the end
  7. After 100% installation the sensor reboot and the new version v1.1.4 was installed

i can not guarantee that this procedure works every time but in this test case it works with the first attamp, maybe somebody can help this realization…
