Homey Energy | Megathread

The energy “widget” (or whatever it’s called  ) at the top of the app seems a bit much or perhaps even redundant in the future
Will they be combined, @Doekse, and/or @Harwin?

Thanks, but the homepage on my mobile went back to the original setting. :sob:

Just watched the announcement and the Q&A. I am a Homey Pro 2019 user and to be honest pretty disappointed that for a system which is only 4 years old, it is decided to make Homey Energy not available. Have many electronic devices which are older than 4 years and for which I still get regular software updates (like it should be). So please reconsider this decision. Thx.

@Doekse you mentioned being able to edit old data manually, will it also be possible for apps to create historical data? because my energy provider has an API to get my power usage in 15min intervals but only with 1-2 days of delay. I know I wouldn’t get a live view but I would love to see historic trends.

Not sure why the grid and home numbers don’t match?

I can relate to that.
Who’s (Android) smartphone from 2016 to 2019 still receives any update?
(I mention Android as I’ve no clue about Apples & max. update life)

If technically possible I would enable a paid Energy plugin for the 2016-2019 models.
At the same time, when one just bought the Dashboard plugin, I can imagine one just starts waiting for the upcoming Homey Pro LG 2025 :face_with_peeking_eye:

As I wrote earlier, I also can get the decision to stop providing for new things for the white ‘Kügel’ series.
I’m sure the regular fixes and little improvements are going to be continued.

These are exactly the questions I ask myself!

Same issue on latest android version with samsung s23 ultra.
I still get notifications and hdasboards is still working

So the beta is full already, but the announcement video touts public beta as if it’s a free for all.

Classic Athom as usual.

See you in March then.

Me neither. Not interested in my energy usage. Just pay the bills at the end of the month.

That did the trick, thanks!

Week view is acting up, probably because of lack of data.
However the message isn’t correct:

I’m not disappointed, I’m frustrated.

It’s true that I can’t expect my homey to be updated forever (it shouldn’t be sold that way either).

Of course, if I have to pay 25€ for a Dashboard, if there’s an Energy Dongle that’s not compatible, my product won’t continue to receive support like when I bought it.

But everyone has their own opinion.

I am also curious about this. I have Shelly 3EM clamps measuring my grid power… I have use the Group App to combine all 3 phases into one reading (giving me total grid usage) - but I am unsure how to instruct Homey Energy to use this for my grid reading. I also have Shelly EM 50 monitoring solar - again, not sure how to instruct Homey Energy to use this sensor for solar readings. Anyone else had any luck?

Yes if they will support the old homey’s in the future.

I cannot imagine that this feature requires special hardware, it even works on homey cloud.
They just want to sell more new homey and they gave up the old users

Will Homey Energy support the new Dynamic Pricing of every 15 minutes rolling out in many countries in Europe first half 2025?

That is not their fault, it’s a limitation by Apple that allows you a maximum of 10k beta testers. For Android users there is no such limit.

Hehehe, the best buy guide is already updated :stuck_out_tongue:

So now only one innr smartplug is displayed in the energy tab. What can I do to let it show the rest?

Not sure if this is a bug or a difference in expectation; I currently have a single smart plug with power metering and thus it’s listed as the only “grootverbruiker”. But it’s also listed as 100% of the usage.

Since the Christmas tree is only 10 watt I would expect the usage to be not even a single percentage. It seems the total is referencing the total of the “grootverbruikers” and not the total power consumption in the house.
