It seems that it should be possible to update the firmware of your Zigbee devices within the Developer Tools. The only thing required is that the software is preparred and suitable for this. I can not find anything within Developer Tools right now. Is there already any supported platform for OTA u…

To clarify, our support team’s statement is accurate: in theory, a developer could build OTA support for Zigbee devices into a Homey App. We understand that this isn’t the most straightforward solution, and having an official interface for OTA updates would be ideal. While it’s on our long to-do li…

Maybe try to think about mandating it for a partnership. The more Zigbee controller vendors mandating it, the more likely the chances are they’re giving in. Or maybe signing an NDA towards the vendors on keeping the firmware files private in the Homey eco system. Although it would be better if al…

Hi, Could you create a guide on how we could update this as an interim solution? That would be the first step, and maybe the community can take it further as Robert Klep suggests. I think this would be a good question for the podcast  Maybe de communitie wil find an other way to find the fri…

Still no news? I still cant use my IKEA innselning as there is a firmware bug in the fw that it comes with from the store. As @robertklep mentioned, I paid a lot of money for my homey so that I wouldnt need to buy multiple gateways. IKEA distributes their fw so if someone finds out how to update the…

Don’t count on Zigbee OTA updates being supported by Homey any time soon. This topic pops up every couple of years, and every time it’s the same story (“We’ll look into it” or “Technically it’s possible for app developers to implement OTA updates”, while Athom themselves don’t even implement it in t…

I can live with not having OTA support for stuff that has their own gateway AND support Matter, like IKEA. The IKEA stuff works well for enough for me right now. What’s really frustrating is stuff like Danfoss that Homey supposedly support but not with Matter or thru the API. In this case it actual…

[image] Sigge: I can live with not having OTA support for stuff that has their own gateway AND support Matter Yeah. That. Because I bought a multi protocol smart home hub so that I could keep collecting more bridges. Makes total sense. Not.

Right now I am working on bringing back some “old” hubs… 1 Xiaomi hub 2 Philips Hue bridge 3 Ikea Dirigera This to improve the speed and reliability of the system. To support OTA firmware updates and to have all functions correct available and working. For the moment I think I work over Matter …
