I usually name my automation flows with clear, meaningful titles like “Lower all the blinds” or “Turn all the lights by the sofa on/off”. Some of these are my favorite flows and show up in the “Favorite Flows” widget on my dashboard. I control my Homey Pro from an iPhone and an Android Phone, both running the latest operating system and app versions.
The titles are readable in general, but they don’t fit well inside the flow buttons in that widget, which are displayed in two columns. On the iPhone app, the widget tries to preserve the full title by wrapping it into two lines and reducing the font size. While that keeps the text visible, it can still be harder to read—especially for older users. On Android, the situation is worse: the widget simply truncates the text and adds an ellipsis, so it becomes much less clear what each flow actually does. Look at the pictures below.
I haven’t found a way to configure the widget (or find another widget) that would handle this better—for example, allowing the flow buttons to use a single row or otherwise improving text wrapping.
Does anyone here have a solution or workaround for better flow title display in the Favorite Flows widget?
My current work-arounds (on iOS) are:
- Create a caller flow with a shorter name, that calls the actual flow;
- Use the Shortcuts app to create buttons that run Homey flows. You can also display an icon so that you don’t have to describe that in the flow’s name. Depending on the button size and icon combination, that might show a little bit more context.
Both are not ideal and not real solutions though. Currently there does not seem to be a way, to my knowledge, to display large flow names in full.
Decrease the phone’s general font size (and object size) a tad. This is @ Android 15, showing most of the flow names:

Thank you for your willingness to help and for your replies. It seems that there are only workarounds for this problem. I have therefore reported the issue to customer support. In my opinion, this is not a particularly difficult issue to solve technically.
@Die_Puschis this really isn’t a Homey issue, this is only about the font size of your phone like @Peter_Kawa shows. There is really no need to report Athom for this.
You can off course make a suggestion if it is possible in the app to change the font size, but for now you have to do that in the phone settings yourself 
Thanks, I get the idea and appreciate your response. It would make sense if Homey were the only app on the phone and every font size were easily readable. Neither of those is the case.
Why should I change the font size on my phone—and thereby make everything harder to read across all apps—just to implement a workaround for a single app? That would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. So it remains a well-intentioned workaround, but unfortunately not a real solution.
