Energy usage history

Hi, I am new to Homey, so maybe this information is already mentioned somewhere, however I was unable to find it.

At the moment I am using HomeWizard for all my Energy insights. I would like to switch to Homey, but I can not find an answer how long the history will be kept.
So when I use Homey Cloud, how many years can I view back?

Hi Mausssie, and welcome.

For Homey Cloud and Pro: In theory history is kept for almost 3 years:

(Selecting ‘Last 2 years’ on december 31st 2025, should return 2023 and 2024 data)

BUT,
the data gets averaged more and more over time, and it’s not user changeable:

  • Last hour: every 10s
  • Last 6 hours: every minute
  • Last 24h / today / yesterday: every 5 minutes
  • Last 7 days / this week / last week: every hour
  • Last month / last year / last 2 years: every 6 hours

For exact historical data it’s pretty useless imho.
Only for Pro models there’s community apps available, which can export the hourly data as Excel sheet, or to MySQL or Influx db, to name some
https://homey.app/en-nl/apps/browse/#filter?query=Export
https://homey.app/en-nl/apps/browse/#filter?query=Mysql&platform=local

That way you can save an ‘endless’ and quite precise data history.

Hi.
Thank you for your reply. Strange that this kind of information is not mentioned anywhere.

With this information I think I will stick with HomeWizard.

Yeah, it’s what’s called “the small prints”.
