@Jos_Visser I agree with you that the interesting part is designing and building, not switching a lamp. That is the direction I took with a community app, so for what it’s worth (I made it, keep that in mind):
MCP AI Bridge runs an MCP server on the Homey itself. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or a local model can then read your existing flows and explain them back, and build new basic and Advanced Flows with the cards in place. It looks up the real card ids on your Homey and checks the flow before saving, and it does not go through Athom’s cloud integration, so its rate limits do not apply.
In 5.0, now in test, you can also give every assistant a home profile with what your devices are really called and your house rules, it draws a flow for you before creating it, and it keeps a copy of a flow before changing it. Moving automations over from another system works the same way: paste them in and ask for the Homey version.
Setup and everything else: [APP][Pro] MCP AI Bridge: talk to your Homey with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Cursor, Mistral, Ollama, LM Studio, n8n, Home Assistant or any AI, also from Telegram and WhatsApp
