I have researched about the best robot vacuum for the past few days because I really need something to help keep my floors clean without having to constantly sweep or vacuum myself. I went through reviews on The New York Times (Wirecutter), Consumer Reports, and Popular Mechanics, and two models consistently showed up as top picks:
However, I’m still having trouble deciding which one would be best for my needs and would love your expert advice.
My home has mostly hardwood floors with some rugs, a pet that sheds, and a few high-traffic areas that get dirty quickly. I’m looking for something that has strong suction, good mapping/navigation, and preferably automatic dirt disposal or mop functionality.
If anyone has experience with either of these models—or has a better suggestion—I’d really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!
As you are posting this in a Homey forum: does it need to be connected to Homey?
If so; I see no Homey apps for these brands, so you might want to do some research if it is somehow supported by Homey.
(If not; please move this thread to «off-topic")
Hi, I have a Evovacs T80 since some weeks. You missed the Prime days for a good price.
It’s not the smallest robot (bit higher than others, but no “tower” on top), but is cleaning really good. And it has a roller style mop that uses fresh water on the mop and stores dirty water in the device. At the station, dirty water is pumped into the station and mop is cleaned with fresh water and dried wit hot air.
50m² at once is not a problem.
I can recommend this vacuum. The app is also really good an has a lot more functionality than Tuya based ones.
I’ve been using the SwitchBot S10 as my main robot vacuum, and it’s been fantastic. It both vacuums and mops, but the real game-changer is its water station that connects directly to your plumbing, meaning no more dealing with gross, smelly waste water tanks.
What’s also nice is the built-in “AI vision” system. Everything is processed locally on the device, so no footage gets sent to the cloud.
Upstairs, I use the compact SwitchBot K10+, which is perfect for tighter spaces like bedrooms and under my desk chair.
I’ve also used the Roomba i8 for regular vacuuming. It does a solid job, but feels a bit basic compared to the more advanced competition.
A bit of background; I have 4 cats at home so the S10 does a daily vacuuming and mopping routine that cleans the laminate flooring perfectly.
