Apple TV app created!

I just messaged you, maybe we could work together

That’s a real shame @mojento as you had clearly put a tonne of effort in. I really hope you guys can find a way to work together on this. For me, this test app has been solid for days now. @BasMilius app not stable for me yet. Sometimes I can add devices, sometimes the add process hangs. Sometimes the device gets artwork, sometimes not. Frequently devices appear unavailable for a few seconds before re-appearing. Please do keep this test app alive at least until the other one is stable or you’ve found a way to merge your efforts.

Yes a tag team project as @Mojento @BasMilius I tested both your apps and they both work but each have strength where other don’t. Also I disagree with Homey on this idea of only 1 app for product I think having a few allows for companion and companion always bring enhancement.

and I love @Mojento widgets but @BasMilius does not have widgets

it seems a public repo with PR submissions would allow the collaboration and faster improvements that are being discussed in this thread. but ive noticed theres not much of an open source culture for homey apps.

App looks great. Anyone have an issue with PIN not appearing during setup? I have 2 Apple TV 4K running TVOS 26.2. Thanks.

I had the same issue, what solved it for me was changing settings on apple tv.

Settings > AirPlay and Apple Home > Allow access (set to Anyone on the Same Network and Require Password to Off)

That’s a shame to hear, your app runs very smoothly, looks good, and supports dashboards.

Is there a way we as the Athom community can make it clear that your app needs to be available in the App Store?

Worked when I switched from Everyone to Same Network which seams weird. Mystery solved. Great app.

Thanks LL

Can turn off Apple TV, but not On?

Hi!

ok, let me have a look and get back to you!

Best regards,

David

Maybe Apple TV should have fixed IP? I have tested a little over WiFi and LAN cable and was able to turn on.

Have you maybe configured tileClickAction to something else than Turn On/Off ?

Was your Apple TV on WiFi?

No, not configured differently. My Apple TV was connected via WIFI.

Ok, normally this is not an issue, we do check and keep track of IP/Port-changes on the Apple TV just to prevent issues if the ATV gets new IP and or port.

Please let me know if you can reproduce this issue! I would need a diagnostic report in order to properly troubleshoot this!

Best regards,
David

Tested on another Apple TV, also connected via WiFi. No problems. The problem Apple TV is the 1st gen 4k Apple TV. Here’s the diagnostic report: 19015132-0ca6-4e75-94b8-5339079ed80e

@mhemil you are sure you’re using my Apple TV app? v1.0.4 ?

Ah. Used the other app. Tried yours now. Second code does not show? (Tried suggestion above switching between everyone and on same network).

On the Apple TV connected via LAN, the second code was displayed.

Rebooted AppleTV (WiFi), and now works!!

The flag «is turned on» inverted - (is turned off) - returns with a red exclamation mark, and stops the flow even if Apple TV has been turned off. I am checking this since I do not want to run the flow if Apple TV is already on.

@mhemil ok, thanks for your feedback! This was due to ATV marked as unreachable while turned off, but I’ve changed that to a more sustainable “available” BUT turned off instead. That should make the inverted flow-card to work again!

New 1.0.5 version uploaded, could take a couple of minutes before available!

Best regards,
David

can I still get the app?
