Unfortunately, no success yet. same status as above.
It seems like the external switch doesn’t generate any traffic at all.

Tried to “Turn on the external input”, same error still.

@PeterW sorry it took a bit longer this time :confused:

I made a change to enable the external switch. According to the manual of the ZD2102-5 the external switch is default disabled and should be enabled trough the setting. Hopefully this works now :crossed_fingers:

No problems at all. here is no stress!

Now stuff happened! But only once…
It is now possible to enable the external port on the -5 switch and after that is worked, once.
Also, it was the Contact Alarm that was triggered. I am trying to find out what is happening now. It might need some time to propagate the change.

The “old” and the -5 switch seems to work a bit different:

“Old” switch:
Tamper alarm doesn’t indicate.
Magnet closed/open indicates as Contalt Alarm
External input closed/open indicates as General Alarm

-5 Switch
Tamper alarm indicates
Magnet closed/open indicates as Contalt Alarm, if External port is: “off”
External input closed/open indicates as Contact Alarm, if External port is: “on”
(The last part ceased to work after one trial. After setting the config to “off” and later “on”, the external doesn’t work.)

That is when I closed the cover to disable the tamper alarm.
Actuating eitger magnet or external input gives nothing.

I will wait for some time and see…

I already thought that the magnet shouldn’t work because I saw different commands in your log.

I’ll check the logs and make a change accordingly. Hope I don’t break the normal ZD2102. If I do I’ll create separate device for the ZD2102-5.

But from what I read it’s better to separate the devices. :thinking:

I am checking the “old” switch in parallell, so nothing strange happens with that one.
Only “issue” there is the lacking tamper alarm, but I couldn’t care less! :slight_smile:

Now it works, if I close the magnet AND the external input at the same time.
Separately, it doesn’t generate any Z-wave traffic.

@martijnpoppen I just discovered that the generic alarm has disappeared from the “old” sensor (ZD2102.)
Probably in one of the last updates.
