if it has been 6 months since you created the developer account this is likely the problem.
The free developer accounts stop after 6 months, you will be able to control your devices like on/off but tuya wont send any realtime updates back to homey over the websocket tuya cloud app creates. If this is the case you have to login to the developer portal and request a 6month extension. Be aware that this request can take over 24hours to be active.
those are the logs, there is another tab/page that lets you control devices through the developer portal as well.
Go to the project you created in the tuya portal devices tab. Than hit debug device on the device you want details on. Then youâll have 3 tabs, second tab device debugging.
Options that are not grayed out are set parameters if you change things and hit send instructions, your device should act accordingly. Things like percent_state as in my screenshot below are key elements to build out the tuya cloud app to make devices work.
Thanks @Jepke
[EDITED] I managed (I think). I didnât see anything there when âControl Instruction Modeâ was on âStandard Instructionâ. After I changed to âDP Instructionsâ I did see the information you showed.
Dankje!
Hello everyone, have anyone had issues with updating the power consumption of the Gosund sockets? I have four of them, am using Tuya app which shows power properly. In the homey app however, it is shown correctly when the socket is on. If itâs off, the power consumption stays at the last level (when on). See screenshot. I guess for two grayed out ones (off) it should be 0?
If you could please keep the conversation in English as much as possible, then more people will be able to participate and help you. If you would rather not or canât communicate in English then please check out Non-English boards/categories:
@G_X@Gerhard_Klein If youâre not getting metrics/values from tuya cloud make sure to check if your 6 months didnt expire first.
This is a nasty thing tuya does beyond control of Homey and the Tuya cloud homey app. You can pay tuya 25k to get a permanent licence, or renew manually every 6 months.
@Jepke, I just did Tuya thing a month ago, so still within 6 months period. I have used Gosund app previously to be honest. The Tuya app shows Current Power value correctly when the socket is off, which is 0. I was thinking the sockets might be faulty as it allegedly often happen to be, but Tuya app shows the power consumption just fine.
Funny thing, I have one socket that is powering Christmas lights (LEDs). When itâs on, the Homey app shows a nice power consumption graph indicating different LED modes - blinking, fading etc. So my guess would be either thereâs a bug in Homey App when the socket is off or Tuya app doesnât communicate correctly with the Homey.
In technical terms the Tuya cloud homey app builds a single WebSocket with tuya over which all those messages are transported. So if 1 works the other should technically work too. But tuya does send garbage messages from time to time.
My first step to troubleshoot would be to log in to the iot tuya portal and compare/debug both devices. Device controls as well as all the measurements are available there.
Worth mentioning is that Tuyaâs Iot portal communicates to their Iot Core. The smartlife, tuya or other branded apps also communicate directly to the the Iot core. Which is significantly different to how the homey app communicates.
