[APP][Pro] Piggy Bank

Yes, that is done.
I see that piggy bank try to start charge, then one min later stopped by easee app. Maybe it had to to with capasity.

I can’t seem to be able to turn off minimun cheap/expensive hours a day. I’ve tried setting them to 0 and leaving them blank, but the app keeps setting the price point for low and high to the same price point lower then the average.
Am I overlooking a setting, or is this a bug?

If you have other “smart” controllers like Tibber for the charging then this need to be disabled, did you turn off other smart controllers?

Anyways, as you know, the algorithm is under development so I can’t promise you an optimal experience yet, but we’re getting there slowly. Seems like we might need a small update in the Easee app too, but the developer is on holiday so we have to wait a little bit before I can continue on the new algorithm.

hmmm… Could be a bug, unless that change won’t have any effect before the next hour starts (I don’t remember). Is this the case or is it still behaving as if low and high are the same?

They were last sett 16 hours ago(at midnight) and the extreem price points keep changing as normal.

But are the low and high limits equal still or do they look more like this?

They are still sett to the same price point, as they have been for ~17 hours now.

Yes, i had Tibber before as operator, and handling of smart charging, but that is disabled, and Easee is now set as operator.

I cannot see from the price you have reported above (1.27 kr/kWh) where the prices was fetched from. None of the price regions in Norway had this high prices yesterday. Can you please indicate what your price settings are?

But, unrelated to this, as I was looking for this issue I found the problem below:

A severe bug in the internal price control has been detected:

As it turned out the selected price region was not accounted for, so It was always using the NO-3 (Trøndelag) price region. This has given incorrect settings of when hours were cheap and expensive for a couple of users after the fetching of prices was introduced. (for those using prices from the app Strømregning would not have been affected)

I apologize for this and have a bug fix ready that will go live on Monday (already available for testing).

Prices was fetched from Strømregning app. So that would be including nettleie and all that.
And for the effect the price point had was that I got 1 “normal” hour at 17:00 yesterday when it should have been “cheep”.

Same today. The low price point should be 1.44, not 1.21.

Hi,

First, thanks for a great app :grinning::+1:

Yesterday I found a bug related to the title and tag of the trigger flow card for price point changed, and I have created an issue at GitHub: Inconsistent price point title for low/cheap ¡ Issue #60 ¡ frodeheg/no.sparegris ¡ GitHub

Yesterday we had a power outage for a few hours. Homey and all of our LAN, wifi, hue bridger etc have UPS and were not down during the power outage. When the power came back, I experienced a problem that I have never seen before, Piggy Bank turned off the thermostats (Heatit Z-TRM3) no matter what I did with settings, restarting the app, manual control of the thermostat, etc. In the end, I had to disable the thermostats in the app to be able turn them back on. After I got them on, I tried to enable them again in the app, but the same thing happened, they were turned off pretty much immediately. So last night the thermostats were not enabled in the abb, and was heating without any control from the Homey to make sure we had heat in the bathroom floors. Then I tried again this morning to enable them in the app, and then they worked as before the power cut again.

I had not been in config during the power failure, so not a single setting had been changed and the only thing that has happened to the app since the power failure, according to the log, is that the Homey switched from night to day mode in the app via flow (which I do every evening and morning).

Anyone else has seen this behavour, or has an explanation of what may have happened and what I can change before the next power outage, to avoid this behavour happen again?

Thanks, I will have to look closer into this. I created this ticket to follow up.

Thank you

There are two things that happens when you have a power outage that will affect Sparegris:

  1. For the first 15 minutes after the reboot it will refuse to control any devices because this will interfere with the zigbee driver trying to rebuild the zigbee mesh. I have observed that zigbee never comes online unless this is done.
  2. For the entire first hour after a reboot, the app must estimate how much energy has been used before the restart because there was no data on it. This estimate is high in order to prevent you from overshooting the power tariff in case homey was powered off and rebooted when you was using inconveniently much power. I could possibly allow you to manually confirm that the reason for the reboot was a power outage and as such the high estimate can be removed, do you think this will be better? Anyways, the situation should resolve when you cross into a new hour after the reboot. (although, if you had a power loss then the temperature in the house was probably a bit low, so when you got power again all heaters attempted to heat at the same time too which would force Piggy to turn off at least some heaters to maintain the power budget even after the first hour had finished)

Hi.

First of all, great app!

But I am having some problem with my thermostats not changing temperature when the price point change.

My solution is turning them off in the Homey app and the the usually turn on by them self and then change the temperature to the correct one.

Any tips to fix this?

Which brand / type of thermostats do you have? Are they marked as experimental in the app?
Sounds like the temperature does change under some circumstances but not all. Is this consistent or does it happen at random? What about when you’re > 5 minutes into the hour, is the temperature still wrong then?

Not marked as experimental no. It is the HeatIT Z-tmr 3.

I’m not sure under what circumstances the it happens sadly. Neither if it shows the correct temperature >5minutes into the hour although I’m pretty sure this happens after 5 minutes as well. Will try and see if I can find out more

Ah, that was the same as me. I experienced that these was very unreliable for me, so I had to remove them and add them back with code 0000, this will unfortunately remove the encryption but after I did it the devices never lost temperature settings again.

Hi.

My piggy-bank has stopped responding. Tried to uninstall and install again, but didn’t fix the problem. When trying to configure the app, a few error flickers and the last visible error is, "Error: Missing implementation for api endpoint “getStats”

Hi @foni , I will look at this at once.

One thing you probably should do is to go into the menu option “Adwanced/Backup”, then you can dump the entire state of the app. At first I like you to copy this into a file and store it for safekeeping. Then if the situation resolves please do the same again and we can compare the two files to identify any errors.

You may or may not send these states to me in a personal message, but meanwhile, you gave me one clue I have to investigate… You can follow further investigation in this github ticket.

Where do I find this menu option?
