[APP][Pro] MELCloud & MELCloud Extension - Take control of your heat pump

Hello @OlivierZal ,

I think i am experiencing the same as @Christer_Sjostrom mentioned.

The MelCloud app in Homey is stuck on values and does not respond to commands from Homey. The MelCloud app from Mitsubishi works just fine.

When i open the “configure window” in the Homey MelCloud app, i get a “401” error and when i press “OK” i get the login window. Just pressed “Enter” and then i get the error message described below. And now it has fetched the new values and Commands from Homey are okay.

The last time i did this, was about 4 hours ago, and suddenly it freezes.

Hi @Marius_Stensrod, unfortunately it’s an issue at the MELCloud level. Other users have the same issues with the official MELCloud app, so since I’m not working for MELCloud I cannot do nothing on my side :disappointed:

Sorry…

@Marius_Stensrod, this post for the Home Assistant integration from today confirms the global issue: Error setting up entry AC's MELCloud for melcloud · Issue #103973 · home-assistant/core · GitHub

You can try to go to your device settings > maintenance, and reauthenticate so a new token will be generated (but without warranty it will fix the issue).

Yeah, It solves the issue for some hours. Like what i have done with entering the settings

Thank you for the reply, i then understand it is nothing you can resolve/bug in Homey MelCloud app.

Hi, how can I use the MelCloud Extension app when I live in Finland ?, 8 degrees from the outside temperature seems a bit off.

The MelCloud app works well but I would like to use the temperature in the kitchen and a 8 degrees difference here seems a bit too much.

Hi @KWallin,

Don’t worry, the “8 degrees from the outside temperature” apply only in cooling mode (even if you enabled the feature in the app settings).

These “8 degrees only in cooling mode” are data from the Mitsubishi heat pump experts and are related to the use of the R32 fluid, which is not used for heating, drying and fan modes (and I excluded automatic mode too, because R32 is not under control in this mode).

Does it make things clearer?

Ok, thanks for the clarification! So it should only use the “outside temperature” from my kitchen as the actual temperature then?
Currently it uses the temperature from my MelCloud app which is more or less the target temperature why it possible picks up the local temperature at the heat pump.

The best is to use an outdoor sensor, like e.g. Netatmo.

Tried with my Netatmo but in the MelCloud app it still looks like the local temperature of the Hero, what do I have to do more than select the sensor and load it?

What happens if you switch your device in cooling mode?

Is it Melcloud we should reach out to for the Homey issues?
Since the Mitsubishi Melcloud app is working, is this an API issue?

Hi @Tirrazo, the root cause is probably on MELCloud side but since the issue is that your token in Homey needs to be renewed, it should be fixed if you go to device settings > maintenance and reauthenticate.

I did that, and something weird happened.
The Wifi signal got values immediately, but the power and fan speed is still stuck on 2 days.

Does it help to re-add it to Homey?
Does it help to restart the heat pump itself?

Should Homey be authorized here?

Will it help to contact them to reset my token?

No need to configure anything in MELCloud.

It’s not necessarily a bug: if values are the same than before the app unavailability, it’s normal to have the latest update.

What happens to the fan value if you turn off your device during 10 minutes?

But since the wifi, power and actual fan values are retrieved from the same place, that means it works fine.

I can try to turn it off and see if anything changes on the Homey side.

Is there any other values you can configure in the app to be shown than those 3?

You can do so from the device settings

Hi, switched it to cooling but nothing happened, below is the temperature (19,5) plus target temperature of 17.

@KWallin, can you also show the logs under the MELCloudExtension app settings?

If the temperature difference is under 8° it’s expected that nothing happened.
