[APP][PRO] Logitech/Logi+ MX Keypad

Homey Actions for Logitech MX Keypad

Short description

Bring Homey to your fingertips: trigger Flows with a tap on your MX Keypad.

Overview

Trigger Homey Flows from the nine keys on your Logitech MX Creative Keypad. Each Trigger 1–9 action in Logi Options+ activates the matching Trigger 1–9 card in Homey.

Install Logitech MX Keypad from the Homey App Store

Requirements

  • A Homey Pro with the Logitech MX Keypad app installed and running.
  • A Logitech MX Creative Keypad and Logi Options+.
  • The Homey plugin installed in Logi Options+.
  • Homey Pro must be reachable from your computer over your local network. Homey Cloud is not supported.

Installation and setup

Follow these steps in order:

  1. Install the Homey app.
Install Logitech MX Keypad on your Homey Pro and start the app.

  2. Copy your Homey connection details.
Open the Logitech MX Keypad app’s settings in Homey. Copy the Homey Pro endpoint and Integration key.

  3. Install the Logi plugin.
In Logi Options+, open Marketplace > MX Marketplace, search for Homey, and install it.

  4. Create the plugin configuration file.

On Windows, create the folder %APPDATA%\LogiHomey if it does not already exist. Then create %APPDATA%\LogiHomey\config.json. You can use PowerShell:

    New-Item -ItemType Directory -Force "$env:APPDATA\LogiHomey"
    notepad "$env:APPDATA\LogiHomey\config.json"

macOS: Create the file at ~/Library/Application Support/LogiHomey/config.json.

Add this JSON, replacing the example address and key with the values from your Homey app settings:

Important: The endpoint shown in Homey settings includes the API path, for example http://homey.local/api/app/com.homey.logitechmx/button-press. In baseUrl, use only the address before /api, such as http://homey.local. If homey.local does not resolve on your network, use your Homey Pro’s local IP address instead.

The plugin reads config.json each time a key is pressed, so saving the file is enough. Keep your integration key private. To use a different config-file location, set the LOGI_HOMEY_CONFIG environment variable.

Create a Flow and assign a keypad key.
In Homey, create a Flow and select Trigger 1 through Trigger 9 as its “When” card. In Logi Options+, assign the matching Trigger 1 through Trigger 9 action to a keypad key. For example, assigning Trigger 1 in Logi Options+ activates the Homey Trigger 1 card.
Local network and troubleshooting
This integration sends events directly from your computer to Homey Pro over your local network. It does not work with Homey Cloud. If a key press does not trigger a Flow, check that baseUrl is correct and that Homey Pro is reachable from your computer.

On Windows, the Logi Plugin Service log is located at:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Logi\LogiPluginService\Logs\plugin_logs\LogiHomeyActions.log

I wonder why this is required. You can also swap

http://homey.local/api/app/com.homey.logitechmx/button-press

with

https://<cloud_id>.connect.athom.com/api/app/com.homey.logitechmx/button-press

for remote access, right?

App not out yet! Working on verification and publishing.

Hi @smarthomesven - somehow my installation could not find homey.local - I had to put in the ip. Sucks with ip - but working on initial release.
