[APP][Pro] IcalCalendar

After the recent updates my calendar events are off by one hour. I have tried to restart my Homey and the app, and checked the time zone in Homey (Stockholm). I’m guessing that it might be related to the updates, any ideas on how and what I can check?

Thanks for a nice app!

Thanks, I have created an issue on GitHub.

Hi @runely, Your great app is a cornerstone in my Homey flows, so thumps up and thank you for having this! Since the latest Ical Calendar update my icalCalendar flows are not detecting events that are clearly present in my iOS Calendar. I’m on Homey Pro’23 and I mainly use the flow that checks if a calendar event is active or will be active in a specified agenda. Any idea what may be the cause for that and where I need to look for?
Thank you in advance for your help!

To see which events are imported you can add the condition card “Event is ongoing” to get a list of imported events.

If you are missing any events in that list, follow the troubleshooting section in the first post

This should be fixed in v3.0.4 that’s just been released

Thanks! I finally discovered that my 2 calendars were completely messed up in the Homey list. No idea how that happened (maybe too many changes in my repeated events?). I recopied the 2 URI in the settings and now all imported events are correct again. Thanks again for this nice app!

This last week, something went wrong with the app. I do not know if it is your app or the last update on Homey. I have a feeling that it could be related to recurring events. I have successfully run this app for more than a year with three calendar running and automizing tasks like Home, Work, Vacation. Has worked flawlessly. Now it has started to hang up on an event that runs in weekdays and should not run when we are home. As you see from the image it should have run Monday and Tuesday, but it has been going off all week. Attached also the hit count from settings where you can see it proclaims there is an event 8/2.

These weekday event are set up as weekly repeating.

There’s no image attached here..

To look into this i need a diagnostics report, so please follow the Troubleshooting steps referenced in the first post (link) to activate more logging and preferrably create an issue on GitHub for better tracking

There’s not possible to see from your pictures what’s going on. I do see that you have two events.

So, to look into this i need a diagnostics report, please follow the Troubleshooting steps referenced in the first post (link) to activate more logging and preferrably create an issue on GitHub for better tracking

It is, thanks a lot!

Removed the repeating events and the problem disappeared. I had it to weekly repeat from a weekday.

I will set it up again and see if it happens again.

hi @runely linking to this one as I might have something related. yesterday a recurring meeting was fired off by iCal, even though it had already been removed. this was an issue with outlook (recurring all day meetings when removed, still remaining), but it is now also the case with Gmail.

Now I recall we had the discussion a while ago, and that was linked to mainly outlook, but now also experience it with gmail… were you able to find anything related to that that might solve it?

Hi there.

Had you very recently removed the meeting occurence? So recently that IcalCalendar hadn’t had the time to refresh the calendars? Happens automatically every 15th minute (unless you have set it to something else in the settings)

I did a test on my Gmail and Exchange O365 calendars and found the following:

  • On Gmail, the correct occurence was not removed, but the occurence the day after was removed…
  • On Exchange O365, the correct occurence was removed (No problems)

I will look into this

Just so we are on the same page. The previous problem you are mentioning had to do with single all day events, correct?

This problem is about recurring all day events?

I think the previous was the same problem to be honest. it was also there recurring events but then in outlook. we switched to gmail, as the problem was not that according to you. however, it might have been….

Problem will be solved in the next release of IcalCalendar. Just waiting for a new release of a library

Cool! Looking forwards to testing. Thanks for the attempt to solve @runely , very much appreciated. Will let you know the result.:+1:t2::+1:t2:

YES!!!

Works like a charm again for Gmail. will test it for exchange as well.

No success still with Exchange unfortunately. Gmail does works when I move a single event in a series. No problem for me, solved it for now
