[APP][Pro] Apple TV & HomePod

@David_Westberg Thanks! Weird that volume is not working. What is your setup? Are you using your TV as audio output for the Apple TV? Maybe a Sonos set? Or connected HomePods?

Finally a reliable way to detect if my TV is on, thank you very much!

I’m using my TV as audio output for the Apple TV.

I’m having problem with when I have added one Apple TV I can’t find the second one.

But if I delete it and try to add new I found both of them.

:+1: after several restart (the app/HomeyPro/and HomePod connection) I got the cover live

your app on the left - HA on the right

thanks and great job again…

Did a test.
Did connect the same Apple TV to a different TV which is connected to a Sonos Beam.
Volume and mute buttons in Homey works in this configuration.

@Chris86 This is the error I’m getting from your report, and I don’t know why. Your HomePod is rejecting the first communication attempt I’m trying to do, no communication is done before it. Are your HomePods up to date? Maybe try to reset them?

@David_Westberg Thanks for testing, I’m going to do the same tomorrow and see if it behaves the same. I’ll let you know

EDIT: Another question, are you able to control the volume of the first TV with the Apple TV remote? If so, can you also try to control the volume with the remote function on an iPhone?

@Marcus_Fasth So, if I understand this correctly… The second Apple TV disappears as soon as you add the first one?

Hi all my devices are up to date? Is that a Network issue or a HomePod issue? I mean everthing is working Fine at my Home. AirPlay is working on HomePods and on all my TVs. I dont get it why. My WIFI Network is a UniFi Network. Are there some known issues???

Thank you for the great app, everything worked perfectly for me right away. A widget for Apple TV would be cool.

Thanks for this great app!

I have some strange issues regarding use of AirPlay. Sinds I use this app, I can’t play music over AirPlay on my HomePod mini.
If I AirPlay to my Apple TV, and use my HomePod as speaker, it works great.

I already checked my wifi connection and rebooted the HomePod mini.
If I bring my phone close to the HomePod, Airplay also doesn’t work.

Anyone some idea what this can be or how to fix it?

I’m able to control the volume of the first TV with Apple TV remote.
Can’t find where I adjust volume with remote function.

That is super weird and the first time I hear about it. Is this still the case? I’ll run some tests tomorrow with my devices to see if I can trigger this.

No, I mean the remote app on an iPhone or iPad  What this app does is basically telling the device, I’m the remote app on an iPhone.

Yes, this is still the case. But I see my explanation was not totally correct.
My homepod mini is connect tot my Apple TV as main speaker.
So in Airplay, they are also connected.
When I go to airplay I see “Woonkamer” and this is my Apple TV and my HomePod mini.
I can’t play them separately. Maybe this has something to do with it?
Or can I disconnect them from each other, but I always want to use this HomePod mini as main speaker for my tv.

When I start the Spotify app on my Apple TV and play some music, then I can use the remotes (iPhone, Spotify, and this remote on my dashboard)

I don’t know how this app works, but it looks like it is always connected over Airplay, so other devices can’t connect.

@Tim_Smits1 The app tries to be always connected, but it has to be to receive certain information such as power state changes. That said, the app identifies as a remote and not as a streaming client, which also goes over another channel. So the part where this app is blocking other devices, I don’t think that that is the case. I’ll do some tests tonight, I think it’s related to the fact that your HomePods are the primary speakers of your Apple TV.

@Tim_Smits1 Just found this, seems to be the problem you’re having: Reddit - The heart of the internet

I will try to disconnect the HomePod from my Apple TV tonight.
Maybe this will resolve my problem.
But then I can’t use my speaker for the Apple TV. Or always have to use airplay to my HomePod.

Or just buy another speaker for my tv.
