[APP][Pro] Apple TV & HomePod

Is it possible to send a message to the AppleTV and to get it to display on the screen?

@Chris86 An issue with pairing on a 2019 Homey Pro was fixed, but not yet released. I’m really sick right now and haven’t touched my laptop since. Hopefully I can get a release out tomorrow or monday.

@Steve_Nye There isn’t a known function for this, so I’m gonna say no. I’m also not sure if an official Apple app is able to do it either…

My previous system was Hubitat and I was able to send notifications or alerts.i found it quite useful.

@Steve_Nye If you could point me to what you were using, I can take a look. From what I know is that only certain types of notifications are able to show on the apple tv, such as a door unlock or doorbell event, and those are “misused” by some.

Thanks for this app. Would it maybe be possible to read Temperature and Humidity from HomePods? They have the sensors, but not exposed as far as I know?

I have two second-generation HomePod speakers. I can find them in the Add Apple TV section, but when I try to add them, it asks for a code. When I search for them in the Add HomePod section, it can’t find them.

I just checked my old Hubitat code and you were right the message was being sent via the TV and not the Apple TV. Time had muddled my braincells.

For me the app crashes everytime, I turn off the Apple TV with the app. My workaround in the advanced flows: I wake up the Apple TV via Pronto HEX and restart the app a couple of seconds later, which brings the AirPlay-Connection back to life. Here is a picture of the happening:

And here is a diagnostics code:

Thank you very much for the App!

I’m curious, in Apple Home the Homepod mini exposes a temperature and humudity sensor, is this something that would be able to be exposed in Homey as well?

The more sensors the better =P

Great job on the app! Just curious: do you have a when card on the roadmap for “app changed”. Would be a great addition in my opinion! And no hurry, I know your priority is stability :upside_down_face:

@bennokress Thanks for the suggestion, if you could create a feature request on GitHub, that would be great: GitHub · Where software is built

@lukenukemmp3 Thanks for the diagnostics report, I know what is going wrong and there is a fix on the way. Not sure when though

Hi I am still Not able to pair any of my HomePod minis ? I am on the new Version of the App? What could cause this?

here you go . . .

Apple TV not working anymore after update V1.0.26. Apple TV is on while the update is coming through. other Apple devices work fine.

@XeNoN62 That’s unfortunate. Your other Apple TV is doing fine? From the diagnostics report I see that the device times out and that seems related to something I’m fixing right now, and that fix will be released soon. I don’t know for sure though…

Yes, the other Apple TV works fine too, but it is turned off during the app update.

@BasMilius hello, thanks for this great addition and happy new year…

I just discover your app this morning and did a first try…

I had no difficulty to add some of my HomePods… (2 solos gen 1)

I can do simple control very easily

I will play deeper this week end, with flows and cards with my Apple TV and all myself HomePods…

one question..

I’m actually exposing my HomePod and Apple TV trough my HomeAssistant box…

in this case the speaker widget displays the song’s cover of the image of the radio playing…

Is it something possible with your app and do you expect add this feature on your todo list

on the left one homepod with your app, on the right the same through HA

Hi,

Great app. :+1:

For Apple TV, I’m not able to adjust volume up and down. Problems with mute button as well.

Other buttons works great!
