I fixed the problem. Unplug the power for 30 seconds, then put the powercable back in the android tv. The android tv hard reset and you now can connect it correctly. Sometimes this happens after a software update on the android tv.

I have a Nvidea shield TV Pro, but i can not connect it to Homey. Homey found the shield but i don’t get de code on my TV screen to connect.
No idea why, but this morning it works
Hi all: I am trying to use the Open App card but not sure what it needs for arguments. I just put a text name in the App Name and I tried the COM name in the app link field but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
2nd problem…I have a Shield Pro and a 2024 TCL TV that also runs Android TV. I can’t keep either of them connected. I did a hard reset of the shield (power cord), which restored it for about 5 minutes and then lost it again. Both devices connected to my router via wi-fi. Any new ideas on fixing this? I am running the latest version of the app v0.8.0.

For some apps you can find the app name, but for others it is fairly impossible. I tried a while ago to start the TV Photo app, but wasn’t able to.
Losing the devices Problem seems to be related to the open App card. When it fails, it takes all the devices offline.
All in all it seems a bit buggy. Too bad, because there is so much potential in automating these TVs!
And now that Athom is part of LG the focus might be on LG TVs instead of Samsung TVs
Is there an option to add the following feature:
- display a text message on Android TV with a picture? (for example a screenshot from the doorbell/camera)
Question: Is it possible to add the option to “find remote” from the NVIDIA shield?
You can get this to work with the app PiPup. This app is ‘only’ a remote for Android TV.
You can try go to settings > apps > select your app. Then you’ll find the Play Store name (com.dev.app for example). This one always work for me!

At the same time: The app “Ziggo Go” is in the apps section as “com.ziggo.tv” but the deeplink to start it is “ziggogo://”
So, somehow I need to find the “ziggogo://” variant of TV Photo. The developer is not responding. Yesterday I downloaded the APK and opened the manifest.xml, but all without result

We’ve been receiving a lot of requests for official support for Android/Google TV on Homey. At the moment, we’re assessing the issues and missing features in the community-built app created by @lucasvdh. I previously reached out to him but unfortunately didn’t receive a response.
If we can get a clear understanding of what’s needed to enhance this app and make it work seamlessly with Homey, we’ll explore how we can help make it happen.

This would be great! The standard stuff, like turn on android tv would be helpfull, but what I would realy like to see, is that we can use playback status to trigger flows. For instance, when android tv pauses, then the lights turn on, etc.
If I’m not mistaken, that’s already possible, right? You can turn devices on or off and automate actions based on playback status—for example, “Stopped Playing” means paused, and “Started Playing” means resume.
Would be great to see local Matter interoperability enhanced in a bi-directional way, to both allow letting the TV control smart-home, and let smart-home control the TV:
