[APP iOS] Mikonus – I built a 3D visual interface for my Homey

Small note about TestFlight feedback

First of all: thank you for all the feedback! I’m already receiving some really useful reports and suggestions through TestFlight.

One small problem: TestFlight feedback can reach me anonymously, so I have no way to reply or ask follow-up questions.

If possible, please include an email address, your forum username, or another way I can contact you when reporting something — especially if it’s a bug that might need a few more details.

Alternatively, feel free to send me a DM here.

@schmucke I saw TestFlight invitations are closed, but still wanted to kindly ask whether you can put me on the list? If yes, please pm and i send you my Apple ID  Thanks!

The same for me

Yes very Nice i’m also interested

i’m also interested !!

I’m also very intersted in this…

Hi everyone, just a quick update.

Version 0.2.0 is currently under review by Apple. At this point, though, I’m not sure this will actually be the version I release initially.

A lot has happened over the last few days and weeks, especially around the outdoor editor and the whole outdoor environment.

I think the current 3D view is starting to look really good. Just like the interior, everything is modeled in 2D first, and Mikonus turns that into the 3D world.

From the dashboard, you can view the most important sensors and control scenes and devices directly.

The house itself is generated from the scanned or manually modeled floors. In my opinion, this looks much better than simply extruding a basic floor plan, while adding surprisingly little extra rendering cost.

Users who already signed up for TestFlight also have access to version 0.2.1 and can try the current state of the outdoor editor.

I’ll post another update once Apple is eventually done. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@schmucke

This looks very good and interesting!

This is exacly what i am looking for to add to my dashboard.

Do you have plans to make the app posible on Android?

Thanks!

Yes, I definitely plan to bring Mikonus to Android as well.

For now, my focus is on finishing the iOS/iPadOS version and the Homey integration. The good thing is: once a scene is published to Homey, the Mikonus dashboard itself can already be used on Android tablets through the Homey Dashboard.

A native Android version of the Mikonus editor is planned for a later stage.

Nice i love to test it.

So you can make and edit the floorplan in the homey app without the separate Mikonus app?

You create and edit the floor plan in the Mikonus app, then publish it to Homey.

I keep the editor in Mikonus because it gives me much more freedom for the 3D editing experience. Homey is then mainly for displaying the scene and controlling your devices.
