Any way to install “Advanced Virtual Devices” (AVD) now that it's no longer in the App Store or HCS?

Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that the Advanced Virtual Devices app by Arjan Kranenburg is no longer available in the official Homey App Store — and even the direct URL:

arduino

CopyEdit

https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.arjankranenburg.virtual-devices/

returns a 404.

I also searched the Homey Community App Store (https://homeycommunity.space) as suggested in some older guides — for example referencing “Advanced Virtual Devices (by jompa68)” — but I couldn’t find any installable version there either.

I’m specifically looking for a way to create writable virtual sensors (e.g. temperature) that can be updated via HomeyScript and displayed on dashboards like HomeyDash.com.

:puzzle_piece: Is there any way to install either version of AVD (Arjan’s or jompa68’s)?
Or alternatively, is there another method to achieve the same goal today?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Here, use this:

Thanks! I’ve already tried VD, but that one is too limited for what I’m looking for. I will check out the Device Capabilities, but I’m also keen on finding a way to actually install AVD. There are still a lot of active threads on AVD, so evidently it’s still alive, I just can’t find a workable installation method.

The Advanced Virtual Device (AVD) is part of the Device Capabilities app as linked in @OH2TH’s post.

Just FYI, Searching for ‘advanced virtual device’ returns the correct app:
