Ajax systems integration to complement home security

I tested it yesterday, and it behaves exactly as I expected. When “Always Active” is enabled and motion is detected, the alarm/siren also goes off, even when the alarm itself is disarmed.

As for the doorbell, it doesn’t appear in the device list. The doorbell camera does show up under the “Cameras” section, but there doesn’t seem to be any doorbell-specific functionality available that can be used. At the moment, it looks like it’s treated purely as a camera rather than as a doorbell with a button press event.

Pushed out a fix for the doorbell, nice catch.

I’ve updated and can now see the “Doorbell Push” trigger, so that part looks good.

However, I also see that the same trigger is now available on other cameras connected to the Ajax NVR, even though those cameras are not doorbells.

Another thing I noticed is that the Doorbell camera appears twice in the device list. Both entries seem to end with the same device ID, although one of them has a prefix in front of it. Do you know why that is?

I’ll be able to test the actual doorbell functionality tonight to see if the flow is triggered correctly when the button is pressed. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’ve pushed out another build. The prefix has to do with the older device identity, but it should be hidden now. Awaiting your test ( I’ll be asleep most likely with the time difference, but I’ll fix accordingly tomorrow if anything arrises )

Yes this works

I’ve just checked it again.

Both devices are still showing up in the device list (the one with the prefix and the one without it).

The device without the prefix now does have an additional setting called “Ajax Doorbell: Yes”, so that part seems to be working correctly.

However, the “Doorbell Push” trigger has disappeared completely now, so at the moment I can’t test whether the flow is triggered when the button is pressed.

Anyway, sleep well! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: We’ll pick it up again tomorrow.

Noticed build didn’t go through previously, should be 95.

I’m on version 1.0.156 now.

Both cameras (the one with the prefix and the one without it) can still be added as separate devices.

The Doorbell Push trigger has returned, but it’s still showing up on all cameras rather than only on the Ajax Doorbell.

I’ve also already removed all of the camera devices and added them again, but the behavior remains the same.

That’s the old one : Ajax Beveiligingssysteem | Homey should be the latest

Ah, okay. I’m on v1.0.158 now, which is the latest version available for me. I’m not sure if Homey has some delay when rolling out updates, though.

Unfortunately, it’s still the same.

That said, it may not really matter. If the trigger itself works correctly, then the doorbell functionality is there and usable. The only remaining issues are that the doorbell appears twice in the device list, and every camera has the Doorbell Push trigger available.

@MikeTango Thank you for creating such a great app and for all the time and effort you’ve put into it. You’ve done an amazing job!

Would it be possible to add support for zones in the app? In my house, I have three alarm zones: one for the main house, one for the basement, and one for the garage. Each zone can be armed and disarmed independently, or I can arm and disarm the entire system at once.

It would be fantastic if this functionality could also be controlled directly from homey.

I’ve just tested the doorbell, and unfortunately it doesn’t work with the “Doorbell Push” trigger.

I tested it on both doorbell devices, the one with the prefix and the one without it, and neither of them triggers the flow when the button is pressed.

Which version of the app?

I’ll see what I can do tomorrow. Just coming back from a fun night in Singapore so might be a bit

1.0.158

Haha, have a great evening! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks, I did have one version prepared just before I went, did upload it just now but not sure if the fix is in there.

any chance you might have been able to test out the latest build(s)

Yes, sorry, I forgot to report back yesterday.

Both doorbell devices are still present, one with the prefix and one without it. The one with the prefix now has the “Doorbell Pressed” trigger available, while the one without the prefix does not.

However, the trigger itself doesn’t work either. The flow does not react when the doorbell button is pressed, so unfortunately the “Doorbell Pressed” trigger is not being fired.

hmm this stumps me a bit, the prefix device shouldn’t show up anymore. Which version is this?

I’m on 1.0.176 now.
