Ajax systems integration to complement home security

Yeah that would be great to have read only. But if i fill in the sia details it still asks for the email and pasword details.

Ideally you not always want to arm and disarm from a oitside system.

I think it is Ajax fault not have the option to create a new account without phone number

I have just brought out an update with a separate option for SIA usage, do note that functionality is very limited. The response given earlier was to Giovanni

Not ideal but for my the solution was to get a travel sim so I had a new number to create a homey account on my hub. You only need the number for the first activation code so a 1day travel sim isn’t that expensive.

yeah!! now works - thank u

Thanks for the feedback, happy it’s working

@MikeTango your app actually works really well, compliments!

Of course there are various things that don’t work yet or don’t work properly, but I assume the app is still under active development and that we don’t need to report every little issue.

Maybe just one small request while you’re working on it.

At the moment, whenever a door sensor is opened, it generates an alarm notification in the Homey log, even though it’s just a normal door opening. That creates quite a bit of clutter in the notifications. :slightly_smiling_face:

And one question regarding security: do our login credentials pass through a proxy?

Keep up the good work!

Well I don’t have many of the Ajax devices, so I definitely need all the feedback there is. “Of course there are various things that don’t work yet or don’t work properly”, if you list them ill see if can fix/add.

Regarding the proxy question; no, the app works exactly like the mobile app (iPhone/android), if you look at connected devices in your hub you’ll notice Homey being there.

edit: uploaded a version that should fix the door sensor alarm.

@MikeTango

Hi,

Thanks for the app, it works great!

I do have a question: I have multiple sensors, but the room field configured in the Ajax app is not carried over to Homey. Maybe this is something you could adjust?

Could you try again, should work now.

Hi,

I currently don’t see any difference. At the moment, I’m running version 1.0.144.
Could you indicate where the change should be visible?

That’s the non updated version, should be 46

Hi,

I am currently using the latest version (1.0.146).
I can now see the field, but it is empty.

I see the issue, can you try again with the latest version. Works here now

Yes, it works. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick fix, the door sensor alarm is working correctly now.

I actually have almost all Ajax devices available, but so far I’ve only added the hub and a door sensor.

This morning I added two motion sensors, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. No motion events are being reported at all. The temperature value is shown, but that doesn’t appear to update either. The last update shown was about 5 hours ago.

I’ve tested this with both MotionProtect and CombiProtect sensors, and both show the same behavior.

Hopefully this is something that can be fixed, as I’d be happy to test further if needed.

I’m currently underway but it sounds like you are trying to do motion sensing without the alarm being activated? If so you have to enable it in the device, which would increase battery usage by a lot.

It should work when that’s enabled, if not I’ll check it out. Currently going abroad though so might be a few hours/days.

Hi Mike,

I did some additional testing.

The Ajax app correctly creates timeline events in Homey:

  • armed by user
  • disarmed by user
  • night mode by user

However, the flow trigger cards do not seem to fire.

I tested:

  • Hub is enabled
  • Alarm mode changed to Armed (Away)
  • Night mode enabled

For each trigger I created a simple flow that only creates a Homey timeline notification.

The Ajax timeline events appear, but the flow never executes and the Homey notification is never created.

Could you check if the flow trigger cards are working correctly in the current version of the Ajax app?

Thanks.

Ah, got it. That makes sense then. So it needs to be set to “Always Active”. The downside, of course, is that the siren will also trigger when motion is detected, even when the alarm itself is not armed.

I was hoping the Ajax motion sensors could replace the Aqara sensors, but it sounds like that’s not going to work in this case. If I understand correctly, motion events are only logged when the sensors are armed.

By the way, is there any possibility with the Ajax DoorBell? For example, can an event be triggered when someone presses the doorbell button?

I’ve never tried that functioning of the alarm, but that is my understanding. Perhaps you could test it out, disable alarm, turn on motion always active on a specific device and see what happens when motion gets triggered.

The doorbell should work, if not id love feedback.

Thanks for the feedback, seeing as im currently abroad could you try : Ajax Beveiligingssysteem | Homey to see if it’s now working as intended? Much appreciated
