I’m using the Ajax Systems app on Homey and currently have my Ajax Hub connected in SIA mode.
Homey successfully receives events from Ajax (for example “Group armed”, “Group disarmed”, alarms, etc.), but it seems impossible to actually arm or disarm the system from Homey. When I try, I get a message indicating that the action is not available in SIA mode.
My Ajax setup uses Areas/Groups (Portico, Ground Floor, First Floor).
I’m trying to understand:
Has anyone successfully armed/disarmed an Ajax Hub from Homey?
Are you using SIA, Proxy Server, or Enterprise API mode?
Is arm/disarm available for regular users, or only for installers/partners?
Are Ajax Areas/Groups exposed as separate devices in Homey?
Is there any workaround to fully integrate Ajax with Homey automations?
At the moment Homey receives all events correctly, but I can only monitor the system, not control it.
Any advice or real-world experience would be greatly appreciated.
So this was mainly for self usage, however seeing as theres still no proper Ajax integration here goes : Ajax Security | Homey . I’'ll further update this in the upcoming weeks, but it should at least give you access to your hub to arm/disarm/night mode without requiring enterprise acces. Also some basic function for devices.
no need to open a new link/topic. After some testing I’ll release the app, but for now will be under the beta. I’ve added a flow that is basically if “alarm is armed and any device triggers the alarm” next to the old flows for each device separately. The link is still the same: Ajax Beveiliging | Homey
Cool and thx, this is nice work and finally something we can actually use and that is secure imo. @homey, Guess we don’t need that proxy thingy anymore? Maybe an idea to make this an official app by homey?
I’m currently abroad, but flying back today and then ill have 3 days at home to test the alarm functioning. I did upload a new build that might fix it.
Wow, you’re such a hero for making this! Finally I can start building the automation I’ve been planning for years.
I understand that the app was mainly for self usage, and that the priority is on stability and functionality, but some design feedback that maybe could be added to the backlog:
The widget size is very big compared to the content and taking a lot of extra space on the dashboard. The widget size could be halved when you only want to display the arming state.
Working on it at the moment, but it seems its requires some stuff that I don’t think is possible for now. I have a workaround in mind, messing with it now.
Is it possible to only use SIA protocol and not use the main Ajax account to login to the hub with full permissions.
I tries in ajax to setup a sepperate account but when creating the account you need a phone number that is not linked to a existing account. Which is unfortunate.
