( @Doekse possibly you can pass this to the best buy publisher?)
I own a SMA Smart Energy 3.6 inverter, recommended at the best-buy-guide section.
I stumbled upon certain info and have some remarks. I just wanted this to share.
- Disagree:
The con is described as “Noisy”;
I fully disagree on that, for the 3.6 model that is.
I’m really allergic to fan noise, but this inverter is dead quiet. It has a passive cooling system (see pic below). It does have some internal fans, but I didn’t notice them running yet on the hotter sunny days;
The only short noises comes from the daily startup/shutdown procedure, when a few loud “click-clacks” can be heard. - Not true:
The 3.6 model has no built-in battery whatsoever - Missing info, but very cool:
- When you limit the output power to 0 Watts, the 230VAC output gets activated (with sufficient PV- or battery power).
This turns it into a 230VAC plug-in device, during mains power outages, or when you don’t want to return power to the grid, but still want to use local solar/battery power. - it can handle three MPP trackers at once.
