[APP][Pro] MeteoVeo - Rain in the next hour, AEMET warnings and radar for Spain

MeteoVeo is a weather service for Spain built on measurements: weather radar, thousands of nearby stations and AEMET, combined into a forecast for the next minutes and hours at your home. This app brings it to Homey.

Coverage: Spain only (mainland, Balearic and Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla). Homey Pro, firmware 12.3 or later.

What your Homey gets

  • Rain in the next hour, in 10-minute steps: when it starts, how heavy, when it stops.
  • AEMET warnings for your area, with level changes. Orange and red warnings reach your timeline without any Flow.
  • Current conditions at your home: temperature, humidity, pressure, wind and gusts, UV, feels-like, dew point; today’s and tomorrow’s max/min.
  • Lightning nearby (15 / 30 / 50 km, satellite-detected, about 10 minutes behind) — with MeteoVeo Plus, as in our phone app (€1.99 a month or €14.99 a year, or free with your own station, see below). Everything else is free.

Flow cards

  • When: rain is expected in X minutes · rain started · rain is about to stop · rain stopped · a warning is issued / changes level / is lifted · lightning within X km (with distance, direction and radar image).
  • And: rain within X minutes (up to 3 hours) · rain heavier than X · a warning (of a given type) is active · chance of rain above X % · gusts above X km/h · sunny now · today’s max above X · tropical night tonight · cooler outside than X.
  • Then: refresh · get the forecast as tokens · send your own station’s readings to MeteoVeo.

Ideas: retract the awning before the rain or above 40 km/h gusts, skip the watering when rain is likely, open the windows at night instead of the AC when it is cooler outside, a notification with the radar image when an orange warning is issued.

Two dashboard widgets

  • Forecast in the look of the MeteoVeo app: next hour of rain, our own 3-hour forecast, 7 days. Cards can be reordered and switched off (or shown only when rain is coming); background, opacity and language (Spanish, Catalan, English) are adjustable.
  • Radar loop of the last two hours around your home.

Setup

Add the device: create a free MeteoVeo account (or sign in), confirm the 6-digit code from your e-mail, pick your town on the map. No API keys to copy. Location, sign-in and account deletion are under the device’s Repair.

Own a weather station? Send its readings with the Send … to MeteoVeo Flow cards, and it becomes your station at MeteoVeo: your readings sharpen the forecast for your home, and with the same account you can follow your station in the MeteoVeo app for Android and iPhone too. As a thank-you, MeteoVeo Plus (lightning included) is free for as long as your station keeps reporting.
