[APP] [PRO] Dashboard Buttons

With Dashboard Buttons, you can create your own buttons for the Homey Dashboard. The buttons can be used to start a Flow or to display the status of a Homey Yes/No variable and change it through a Flow. You can use these buttons as an alternative to the standard Start Flow and Yes/No variable dashboard buttons.

For each button, you can configure settings such as its text and width. Multiple buttons can be combined in a single widget and arranged in any order you like. The same button can also be used in multiple widgets.

There are two types of buttons:

Action button
An Action button starts a Flow. Each Action button can also be assigned its own Action value. This value is passed to the Flow as a text tag.
This allows you, for example, to use multiple dashboard buttons to start the same Flow and use the Action value within that Flow to determine which action should be performed.

Yes/No button
A Yes/No button is linked to an existing Homey Yes/No variable. The current value of the variable is displayed on the dashboard with a green or red status indicator.
When the button is pressed, a Flow can be triggered in which the desired new Yes/No status is available as a tag. The linked variable can then be changed using the standard Homey Logic Flow cards.

Flow cards

Trigger cards:
Action button pressed – triggered when an Action button is pressed. The configured Action value is available in the Flow as a text tag.

Yes/No button pressed – triggered when a Yes/No button is pressed. The desired new status is available in the Flow as a Yes/No tag.

Action cards:
Enable/disable button – allows a button to be enabled or disabled from a Flow. A disabled button is displayed in grey and does not respond when pressed.

Start light loop – displays a colored light loop around a button for a configurable period of time. This can be used, for example, as visual confirmation that an action has been performed or to draw attention to something.

Creating and adding buttons
Buttons are first created in the app settings. You can choose between a wide button (the full width of the widget) or a small button (half the width of the widget).
Next, add the Dashboard Buttons widget to a Homey Dashboard and use the widget settings to select which buttons should be displayed and in which order.

Hello ReneO

Nice feature, different buttons and the colour loop, but after the loop I’m not sure if the device is on or off. The button itself doesn’t change colour. Would be usefull if you could see the state of the device(s).

(It would be pefect if the colour loop had a form of gradient in it.) A wish…

If I delete a button in the setup and later on create a new one, the count for Knop x is going up 1. Could be cleaner.

And if I ceate a yes/no button the colour loop cannot be created because the card cannot find the Knop(Button)

Just a few things I found in the minutes of testing. Maybe I want too much too quick

Hi Oene,

Thanks for your feedback; it is greatly appreciated.

The action button is essentially designed to trigger a flow, not to indicate an on/off status. However, I’ll look into it—it could be a nice addition.
The color loop doesn’t apply to the yes/no button, as the colored dot already indicates the status.

Personally, I prefer the look of the color loop without the gradient  , but perhaps I should make that a configurable setting in a future version.

You’re right that the button number increments by 1 whenever a new button is added.
The number of a deleted button is intentionally not reused. This prevents an existing flow associated with that button number from being triggered accidentally.

Hi can you support this in English?

Thanks

Hi, the app should already support English if the Homey app is set tot English.

Hmmm odd. Yes my app is but this is how it looks to me….

I will uninstall and start again

Just reinstalled and still the same!? Strange

Just checked, im not on a VPN or any other server. Ive got my system set to english and my app store has the British flag, ios is set to english.

Very strange

I see that something went wrong with the settings page. This will be resolved in the new version, v1.10, coming next week.
