Homey for Android Automotive - Beta Testing Program đźš—

Hello Homey Community!

I’m seeking beta testers for a new unofficial Homey for Android Automotive app that brings your Homey smart home directly to your vehicle’s dashboard!

App Features:

  • Real-time control of your lights and locks from your car screen
  • Seamlessly monitor device states
  • Sync your Favorite Devices or choose specific devices via the Homey Companion App
  • Support for multiple Homey hubs

Right now the app works only with lights and locks due to Google-imposed UI limitations for Android Automotive apps.

Current Testing Status:
Currently tested on: Volvo XC40 with Android Automotive 13

How to Become a Beta Tester:
To participate in the beta testing program, please send me a private message with:

  1. Your email address
  2. Your vehicle model and your Android Automotive version, if known

This thread is open for comments, suggestions, and feedback about the app.

This is an unofficial application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Athom B.V. (Homey).

Looking forward to your feedback and testing experience!

Simone

Will it work with Android Auto (cars without Automotive)?

No, It works only on Android Automotive (AAOS)

Thanks for doing the work man! This app would be absolutely fantastic if we could get quick actions on the home screen for our garages and gates. Does it seem doable?

Ciao @Tore_Th , can I ask what car you have and what version of AAOS this is? It’s very different from the one I have on my Volvo XC40.

It’s polestar 2, latest update. Not really sure of the specific android ver, but the general version of the car software is 5.0.10.

Ok, I’ll try to see what I can do. I’ll keep you updated.

ciao @Tore_Th , I did some research, but it seems that on AAOS, quick actions are only available for Media, Phone, and Navigation apps. All other apps (including IoT apps like mine) have a general tab with no way to configure quick actions.
