Space Homey - New Floor Plan Widget (in the works)

Hello Ludvig

i really like your work. You’ve done a great job with this. From my perspective only 3 little Things to mention:

  1. When i click within the widget, then the “normal card” gets updated (green), but when i click onto the “normal card” the widget do not get updated (red)…
  2. When i click within one widget, the other widget do not get updated (red)…
3 Would be really cool if this widget could be grater than one row (yellow)…

Yes the widget should of course update regardless of if you press in the widget, press another card or push the actual button. I have not testing having the same device on multiple cards. Can be something there. Will test.

Multiple columns is of course a wish but nothing homey supports today. So nothing I can do a thing about sadly.

I hav ethe same isue with the Window sensors. They are only in one Widget, but not updating…

Can you do a test with a device and only have it in one widget and see if that works. With outside changes.

@Lars_Moller & Ludvig:
For Android devices: I’ve seen the lights/sensors not being updated at the Home screen, like Lars uses

But they do update fine when you actually use the Dashboard screen.

BTW,
@ Lars: great idea using actual pictures as background image!!

Ouuu you can have the widget on more places or course  did not even think about that.

Okay so for right now this only works on dashboard. Will have to check how that stuff works.

Yeah, the Home screen can be used to add Dashboard widgets, but it’s only saved on the device itself.
A dashboard is saved with your account: wherever you install a Homey app and login, your existing dashboard(s) will be available.
And the Home screen will be just a default screen.

Maybe this explains somewhat why the widgets on a dashboard respond better to ‘external’ status changes.

Got it. I will do some testing. It’s probably not so hard finding this out. I would guess one need to find the id in another way or so. So we can trigger changes. The backend is listening to changes and alerts listener in frontend. But my best guess right now is that it can’t either register the listeners or it can alert them. Don’t have time right now checking it but will see if I find some time in the weekend.

Great work, a smart solution to make a wide variation of floorplan wishes possible by just adding your own visual and placing devices on that image.

I have some issues adding some of my sensors (both motion and button) which are coming from the Zigbee2MQTT integration. Don’t know if that is the issue, or if it’s just a matter of different capabilities.

Motion Sensor

Switch with three buttons

The standard Ikea motion sensors (not via Zigbee2MQTT) are working fine.

Donation sent for the work you did.

not sure what you mean by this.

Regarding your device. We only support small version of devices right now.
OnOff, Dim, alarm_motion, alarm_contact. Nothing more, so device with other features are not supported for now.

Just a compliment. Homey said it would be hard to create a floorplan solution which suits all. I think your solution nailed most of it.

And no problem that not all capabilities / devices are supported. Was just wondering wat the cause was.

Aaa thought you meant you had an idea. Then thanks :folded_hands:

Hi @Ludvig,

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this before.

E.g. I changed the standard icon from the Fibaro switch to a light. Your app still uses the standard icon. Can you put this on the wish list?

Also I changed all the smart plugs for the icon of what is plugged in. Dishwasher, Boiler etc.

Thanks.

I’m not sure i follow.

Did you change default icon homey for a light? And you don’t see that in the widget. Did you change it before or after you add it on dashboard?

Do you see the icon when you search for the device.

Where do you guys make a floor plan ? (Website)

Hint: Sweet Home 3D might be a better idea, in case you’ve plans to set up floor plans in Home Assistant someday as well.
I found out too late

Hi

When I search for the device in your app it shows me the standard (original) icon. I changed it for a light more then a year ago.
