Homey App Store statistics & 2025 Recap

The App Store is missing some statistics, such as how many apps there are, how many developers, etc.I asked Claude to create a scraper for the Apps API endpoints for the app manifest and the changelogs.

I published it on GitHub:

Let me know if you’re missing anything in these statistics

I wonder where the claim of supporting “50.000 devices“ comes from, since there are only 4860 drivers in total across all apps.

I guess if you count all Tuya devices you’ll get pretty close

It’s unfortunate that you can’t view the app installs of apps, that would be very interesting to add to the statistics. You can view the installs of your own apps:

However, it’s only if you’re logged in, you can’t view it from other apps.

I just updated the stats, because it seems like there were some new apps published today.

Where did you get this overview?
I cannot find it… :frowning:

@Henk_Renting In the developer portal, it’s just your list of apps.

Which tab exactly in the developer portal?
I really can not find it… :frowning:
Checked for my HP23 and SHS.

I was referring to this overview of @smarthomesven:

That is the list of the developer’s apps. Used to manage the versions, diagnostic reports and publish to app store.

I get the confusion,
With “your (own) apps” they apparently meant to say “your own developed apps”.

Yes, you can only see the installs of your own apps (the apps you developed yourself). Unfortunately, Athom decided to protect this API endpoint so you can’t see the installs count of other apps.

It’s called “Marketing”, which is often “a little bit” besides actual facts as you should know

About the listing:
“Top 10 Authors” is not how I would describe that listing, sounds like “the 10 best authors” (to me).
I’d like to suggest
“Top 10 Authors with most published apps”

Just an idea of course.

Yeah, too bad.

I especially like the way the app stable- and test version is showed of these app. All on one page.
Now I use App version checker for it, but would be nice if there was a Homey native way of checking if your apps are up-to-date…

Haha, this is very fun. Well done!

A single driver can support more than one device. For example, the Philips Hue ‘bulb’ driver already supports over a hundred light bulbs, strips etc.

And of course we have a huuuge infrared database of devices.

The Tuya app alone likely supports 50k+ devices already. And if you also count all devices that can be added with generic ZigBee/ZWave it’s also many devices
