Hmm, it seems like Homey has trouble with connecting to your HomePod, two of the three connections succeed, but the last one gets dropped immediately by the HomePod. Not sure yet, I’ll look into it. Device identifier is not needed for this
I see that you have two Apple TV’s, are those working fine?
yep, AppleTV’s are working perfectly. I managed to add 1 HomePod mini after a number of attempts (but I do see a disconnection error every now and then). The others, no luck…
I’m at 0.0.30 and connecting a HomePod isn’t working for me as well. When I click connect I get the spinner, after that the spinner with Loading… from which it never continues. HomePod Mini and AppleTV works fine, when clicking connect on those I get the spinner, followed by a short (almost not noticeable) spinner with Loading… below it and then my devices are shown.
Let me know if you want to receive a Diagnostics Report.
Meanwhile, I’ve released another version (we’re in the v1.x phase now, made a little mistake while publishing). This version adds a maintenance action to all devices to restart the airplay / companion link connections. This action can be found under the settings of the device. If you sometimes do not get any now playing updates, this can help. I’d like to know if this happens a lot, so I can make a permanent fix for it.
I’ve also adjusted some timeout durations, they are much lower now, this can introduce a few errors, but those errors will be helpful for me. This will be reverted in the future…
Only thing i cant connect any of my devices at the moment.
They all keep loading, and for the AppleTV i don’t get any code in the screen of the tv’s.
2x HomePod, 2x HomePod Mini, 2x AppleTV.
I made report c226e6f1-3239-4211-b778-8493ee70795f
@Max_N From what I can see in the diagnostics report it says that your HomePod tells the app to back off. Did you do something else before adding it with this app?
Nothing that i know of. I’ve been switching some settings in de Apple Home app, but they are all back in the settings they where for a very long time. Al devices in our home work fine with the HomePods and AppleTV’s.
Any idea what can cause this from the devices?
@Nephilim983 From your diagnostics report I can see that the app receives a timeout during pairing, but I don’t see any errors. Do you have a regular HomePod 1st or 2nd gen or a mini?
@Max_N For your Apple TV’s, can you make sure that AirPlay is accessible by everyone on the same network? You can find it in Settings → AirPlay and HomeKit.
@Nils_Kijkuit Hmm, all I can see is a timeout, but I don’t know why. The app correctly gets device credentials for the HomePods, but the first request after that gets a timeout. To make sure the credentials are valid, the pairing process sends an encrypted request. If that succeeds the device is added.
One question, because I did not test this myself, are the HomePods configered as a stereo pair?
I have managed to add both my Apple TVs and one HomePod Mini. The other HomePod and HomePod Mini are not working yet. They are recognized as a device, but after that it keeps loading.
Here is a copy of the code: 7478fcc3-98b0-44a5-828e-ac84bdbd1934
2 HomePod (gen 2) in Stereo (connected to an Apple TV)
2 HomePod Mini in Stereo (connected to an Apple TV)
1 HomePod mini “solo”
Add a first Homepod mini from the stereo pair without issue. Couldn’t add the other two :

Worked after a reset of the app :

Haven’t yet tried the Homepods and AppleTV
Side request : having a way to get the album cover as an image or url to use in flows I have a Pixoo64 and would love to be able to display the cover art on it…
