CallMeBot setup instructions

You need to get a personal API key from CallMeBot before using the app. Keep this key secret so only you can send messages to yourself!

:green_square: WhatsApp

  1. Add the phone number +34 684 72 39 62 into your Phone Contacts. Name it “Homey CallMeBot WhatsApp”.

  2. Send the message "I allow callmebot to send me messages" to the new contact (using your WhatsApp).

  3. The bot will answer you with your personal API key.

  4. Add the WhatsApp device in Homey and fill in your phone number and the API key. You can now start sending messages from your flows!

:blue_square: Signal

  1. Add the phone number +34 644 52 74 88 into your Phone Contacts. Name it “Homey CallMeBot Signal”.

  2. Send the message "I allow callmebot to send me messages" to the new contact (using Signal).

  3. The bot will answer you with your personal API key and a phone ID.

  4. Add the Signal device in Homey and fill in your phone ID (provided by the bot, do not use your actual phone number) and the API key.

:speech_balloon: Facebook Messenger

  1. Start a Facebook Messenger conversation with @api.callmebot (or click here: https://m.me/api.callmebot).

  2. Send the message "create apikey" to the bot.

  3. The bot will answer you with your personal API key.

  4. Add the Facebook device in Homey and fill in your API key. Note: The username field required during setup is not used for Facebook and can be filled with any random text.

:airplane: Telegram (Text & Group Messages)

  1. Use your Telegram to send /start to @CallMeBot_txtbot (or click here: Telegram Authentication ).

  2. Add the Telegram device in Homey and fill in your username (e.g., @myusername or +331234567890).

  3. Note: The API key field required during setup is not used for personal messages and can be left empty or filled with any text. An API key is only required if you want to send messages to Groups.

:telephone_receiver: Telegram (Voice Messages)

To use the voice call features via Telegram, there is a one-time setup requirement: you must allow @CallMeBot_API4 to send you messages in Telegram.
