Version 1.0.261 (install Tuya Local | Homey) adds the setting. After updating, open the curtain’s settings and set Current Position DP to 3, and leave Position DP on 2. The tile picks up the actual position straight away and follows DP 3 from then on, including when you move the curtain by hand.

However, I’ve noticed one more issue:
The position slider works correctly:
- 0% = fully closed
- 100% = fully open
But the main open/close toggle button in the Homey device interface doesn’t operate the curtain.
My Control DP is set to 1, Position DP to 2, and Current Position DP to 3.
Could you check whether the open/close toggle is correctly mapped to DP 1?
I’ve done some more testing and noticed a few remaining issues.
1. Position feedback
- Position DP is set to 2.
- Current Position DP is set to 3.
- The position slider works when controlling the curtain through Homey.
- However, when opening or closing the curtain through the original Tuya app, the Homey slider doesn’t always update.
2. Open/close button
The main open/close toggle button in Homey doesn’t operate the curtain, although the position slider works correctly.
3. Frequent connection resets
I’m seeing repeated ECONNRESET errors in the Tuya Local logs.
Several curtain motors disconnect regularly and reconnect automatically after a few seconds.
All devices currently use protocol 3.3. These connection issues were also present before version 1.0.261.
Could you investigate whether this is related to local connection handling, position updates or DP 1 commands?
I can provide a support bundle or DP Debug screenshots if needed.

Glad the position works now! Could you send me a support bundle (Tuya Local settings → Fix It tab, button at the top)? If you have Cloud Lookup set up, it includes your motor’s data point table, which shows which words DP 1 expects. The open/close button sends open / close, and your motor probably uses different ones. It also shows when and how often the connections reset.
One thing to try meanwhile: when the Tuya or Smart Life app is open on a phone in your WiFi, it connects to the motors directly, and they accept only one local connection, so Homey’s gets cut. Fully close the app on all phones for a while and see whether the resets stop.

Yes — control of both thermostats is built and in 1.0.262: Tuya Local | Homey
- Keep the Bridge in Homey as it is.
- Turn the dial on one thermostat, or change its target in the Tuya app, so the Bridge reports it.
- Add a new Thermostat device, tap “Behind a Zigbee or Bluetooth gateway?” at the top and pick it. Each entry shows its values, so you can tell them apart: the Zigbee one has DP 2/3/4, the Bluetooth one DP 16/24.
- Do the same for the second one.
They have no connection of their own and run through the Bridge’s, so they’re only available while the Bridge is connected. Please check the data points in each device’s settings afterwards.
I built this without having such a bridge, so you’re the first to try it. Does each valve react when you change its target temperature in Homey? If one doesn’t, send me a support bundle right after trying.

Thanks, the bundle shows a lot.
Position: Current Position DP is set to 3 only on “slaapkamer Sy…”. Please set it to 3 on the other three as well. The kitchen tile currently shows DP 2 (0), while DP 3 says the blind is at 63.
Disconnects: It isn’t the Tuya app, they also happen at night. Every ECONNRESET happens at exactly the moment the app polls the motor, so please set Polling Interval to 0 on all four. They report changes on their own, and the kitchen one is currently polled every second. Every “socket closed” comes exactly 2 seconds after a keep-alive ping the motor answered too late, and then the app hangs up itself. That part is on me: the next version will wait longer (please update Tuya Local | Homey).
Open/close button: DP 1 only shows “stop” in the bundle, and Cloud Lookup didn’t find your motors, so I still don’t know which words they expect. Could you open DP Debug with Auto-refresh, press Open and then Close in the Tuya app, and tell me what DP 1 shows each time?

Thanks, that recording settles it. Your plug receives every ON/OFF from Homey and confirms each one as accepted (“return code 0”), now in the alternative format as well, and then doesn’t switch or report any change. Status requests it answers fine. So Homey not flipping the tile anymore fits: the plug never reports a new state.
The app now sends commands exactly the way other local Tuya tools do, so a different format won’t fix this. It looks like the plug’s firmware accepts local commands without carrying them out. Smart Life most likely switches it through the Tuya cloud.
Which plug is it (brand and model), and which firmware version does Smart Life show for it (plug → 
→ Device Update)? If an update is offered, it’s worth installing. Until then, switching it from Homey would have to go through the cloud, for example with the official Tuya app for Homey. Reading its power and voltage locally works as it is.

it worked on version v1.0.76, but i make total reset and cleaning to my homey two weeks ago and this started. Plug is Nedis SmartLife WIFIPO120FWT No update avaible Main Module 1.3.5 and MCU is same 1.3.5
It worked via cloud app in homey, but tired to update subscriptions etc… Thats why i changed this, and it worked on V1.0.76, but now nothing. It woulde be nice to get this work again =D OR i try find real Zigbee outdoor plug =)
Thanks Mikko, that’s a big help. If it worked on 1.0.76, the plug itself is fine, so scratch what I said about its firmware.
I found one thing the app does differently since then: when it asks the plug to refresh its power readings, it also named the switch (DP 1). Other local Tuya tools only ask for the power readings. Version 1.0.264 does the same. Please update, try ON/OFF from Homey and tell me whether it switches. You can leave Alternative command format off again.
Thanks Mark! DP 1 uses “open”, “close” and “stop”, exactly the words the app sends, so that’s not it.
Could you update to 1.0.264, set Polling Interval to 0 on the motors as suggested, and then try the open/close button in Homey with DP Debug open? Two things I’d like to know: does DP 1 change to “open”/”close” when you press it, and does the blind move? And which button exactly do you mean, the tap on the device tile or the arrows inside the device?

Would it be possible to make the position slider display the actual motor position from DP 3, exactly as shown in the Tuya app?
My motors use:
- 100% = fully closed
- 0% = fully open
I’d like the Homey position slider to show these same values, while still correctly identifying whether the curtain is open or closed.
Is this possible without affecting the open/close controls or Flows?

Both thermostats working. I had to adjust some DP’s but in general they are working.
There are a lot of DP’s where I don’t know what they are for and changeing settings with the tuya app do nothing with the DP’s.
Here is what I figured out.
Zigbee thermostat:
2 = set temperatur
3 = actual temperatur
4 = mode (manual / auto / freeze)
7 = child lock (true / false)
18 = window open recognition (true / false)
20 = self test ( true / false)
21 = batterie level (%)
17 = ?
19 = ?
Bluetooth thermostat:
2 = mode (auto / manual / ho,idayready)
16 = set temperatur
24 = actual temperatur
101 = fast heating (300)
and a lot of DP’s I couldn’t find what they are for.
There is one thing inside the device tile. The thermostats don’t have a general on off status but the switch is there. If a feature with on / off is activated by a DP that would be ok but without the general on / off.
Great to hear, and thanks for testing! Your Zigbee thermostat’s cloud table names the two: DP 17 is the window state (open/close: whether it currently detects an open window), DP 19 is the valve state (open/close).
Two settings you can use on the Zigbee one:
DP Battery % → 21 shows the battery.
DP On/Off → 18 puts the window detection on the switch, so it’s no longer a switch without a function.
From version 1.0.265 you can also set DP HVAC Action to 19: it then shows “heating” while the valve is open.
The Bluetooth one has no on/off data point we know of. Fast heating (101) is a number, not on/off, so it can’t go on the switch. For its other data points: Cloud Lookup → Fetch Devices → the Bluetooth thermostat → Show DPs → Copy Cloud DP Table lists them with their names.
I think that’s nothing I can change
