I can elaborate on this a bit.
At the moment, we’re not planning to maintain an officially supported integration for the Homematic CCU systems. There is an existing Homematic integration, currently managed by WebArray (one of our partner agencies), but it isn’t actively maintained due to the rather rudimentary nature of the system.
We are working on an integration for the newer Homematic IP HCU, as that platform does offer APIs. However, collaboration with the Homematic team has been limited so far.
ELV actually reached out to us some time ago with the intention of selling Homey products through their webshop, and that listing has been ready on both ends for quite a while. The only requirement from our side is that Homematic products work properly with Homey.
At the moment, progress is being held back by a lack of responsiveness from the Homematic team regarding the integration. The latest update we received indicated that they currently don’t have a way to verify partner integrations. This would require users to enable a developer mode on the HCU to use it with Homey, which isn’t something we consider suitable for an official integration.
It’s also worth noting that there are no costs involved for Homematic in this process. The integration is being handled by one of our development partners at our expense.
I’d very much like to get EQ3 Homematic onboard as an official partner and welcome them into the Works with Homey program. But at the moment, it does feel like a bit of a one-way street.
