Yes I have this also and this works great! Ofcource it would be better to have this as an homey app but until its there this device is great.

And yes only disarmed/set/alarm etc. and no contact statuses.

Any news @Doekse ?

Sending an update with an announcement saying you don’t have an update is also an update you know🤣

At the end of last year, Ajax held a presentation of new products. Now they are launching them for sale one after another. Perhaps this is the reason for the delay, the development department is busy with new products.

Yesterday Ajax told in a webinar that homey is asking a lot of questions and Ajax is working on it.

I get the feeling that the problem is that homey is struggeling with the api and not the slow communication with Ajax

They also confirmed that basic functions will come for sure!

Arm and disarm and the alarm.

So please do not hope for a lot more in near future.

@Doekse

The integration is planned to be simple, such as arming and disarming and alarming, or deep integration with Ajax devices, receiving sensor values, controlling smart sockets, light switches, etc.

They have around 600 coworkers in R&D now adays. There’s alot more new products beeing released in the near future. Ajax are very stable and reliable devices. Would be great if/when the integration with homey comes out. Just have to be patient. Ajax has alot of their own protocols for security and fast transmission. So their api probably not as “simple” as others to connect to.

You’re absolutely right, it requires setting up a server between AJAX and Homey to translate the entire message stream coming from AJAX. Their API is mainly designed for installers managing multiple customer installations.

However, in our last meeting with one of their developers, they casually mentioned an alternative API that could allow control of individual connected devices separately from the alarm system. Meaning the system wouldn’t need to be armed. That API hasn’t been shared publicly, though, so we’re currently in discussions about how we can gain access to it.

Thank you, Doekse for giving is a bit more of an insight in how the development is going.

Jeedom has a plug in for Ajax, we are near to release for homey?

Will Relay Jeweller and WallSwitch Jeweller be supported in it?

@Doekse could this maybe give some insight into an integration? The Jeedom plugin @Matteo_Foroni mentioned for Ajax that works: Guide: It's possible to integrate your Ajax alarm with Home Assistant! - Maison et Domotique

No, still nothing, I don’t think it is given much priority either

Just had a chat with the AJAX team, they’re currently proposing internally to grant us access to their status queue. This would allow us to receive real-time updates for devices as soon as their status changes.

Right now, we rely on a message queue that requires polling under strict rate limits, which means updates (like from a sensor) can take several minutes to come through. With the new status queue, we’d receive every device status instantly, even when the alarm isn’t armed. The only exception would be motion sensors, which remain restricted to when the alarm is armed.

It’s now up to the AJAX team, and we’re waiting on their final decision.

That’s great news @Doekse! Thank you for sharing it with us. Hopefully this wil accelerate implementing the AJAX-system into Homey. Thanks and keep up the good work.

(Glad that I recently decided to replace a broken Ajax-Hub)
