I am a retired electrical fitter. I now spend my time catching up on projects that work prevented me getting to.

I like a variety of activities including travelling, photography, 3D printing, engineering and automation. I still do part time work at the factory I was employed at maintaining their automation, plant and machinery.

I have put some automation into my house and used to use home assistant but the latest updates keep defaulting the matter server and have stopped communication with the door locks and lights so I am testing Homey to see if this will suit my purpose better and give me the reliability I wish for. At present I have setup a mini PC with windows, VMware and self hosted server. Just waiting on Aqara E100 matter hub and Homey bridge to arrive to trial system
