I just had to restart my whole internet connection/ cable modem and also restarted my whole network (really everything in my patchcupboard). After this I also restarted Homey with a power outage of 17 minutes.
This happens when I push on my HomePod mini which is in the center of my apartment (=Foyer) and so is newer shutdown by a shelly smart power plug (like other are sometimes to prevent unnecessary standby power usage.)
@DirkG So it’s actively rejecting any connections on the companion link protocol. Are you able to pair with AirPlay? I have the same Apple TV model and it’s not doing that here.
Can you also double check the AirPlay settings on the Apple TV and make sure that it’s enabled for everyone on the same network?
@DoctorBazinga That one I received! From what I can see, the app isn’t even trying to connect to any of your devices at all. Seems that they’re not discoverable, so I wonder what happens if you remove one device and try to pair it again. If the app is not able to find it, that’s the reason all devices are broken.
Did you change something in your network or something? Maybe the app is not able to discover them through mDNS anymore.
That was the test with the HomePod mini, not with Apple TV.
I can play music from my iPhone on the HomePod mini via AirPlay without any problems.
I couldn’t find a setting to enable AirPlay for everyone on the HomePod mini.
I have several times scheduled that my Unifi devices check if there in an (firm-/software) update available and then they download them and (try) to install them. During this 5 - 20 minutes my network and internet connection is mostly only minimal functioning and sometimes needs a full restart after it. So this could have caused a temporary malfunction om my network/mDNS but not for several hours without noticing myself. I had to restart my network yesterday because of the malfunction of my (ziggo) cable modem which resulted also that my unify router din’t get/request any new IP from the modem. A faster quick solution which takes about 25 minutes (complte offline without any network devices online / powered on is to power everything off through shelly smart plugs an power it on through a precise sequence (set in Homey and as backup in the plugs itself.)
After this procedure it was still not working and about max 15 minutes after this I made the 2nd/newest diagnostics report. By the way : Within this complete network restart I restarted Homey too through a shelly smart plug but turning off the power and the plug is set to tun on the power automatically after 17:14 minutes (to reset also any Zigbee or Zwave network/mesh occuring problems).
So everything was at least 10 minutes up and running fresh (beside My Apple Devices).
(one HomePod is disconnected from power to prevent playing suddenly again at night while asleep. But tge other 2 HomePod mini’s should be working.
@Asterix No, radio streams are not supported due to audio decoding. In the next version I’m going to actively block those kinds of urls. I hope to find a solution eventually…
@DirkG Oh, I didn’t see your response! I’m currently waiting on an older Apple TV and an older HomePod so I can test it locally, so for now I don’t have more info, but hopefully will have soon.
I added my Apple TV yesterday and it worked just fine just after adding it. I could turn the Apple TV on and off, and navigation buttons worked just fine.
But later in the evening it stopped working. I tested it again now and it stil doesn’t work.
When I try turning the Apple TV on I get this error:
@Oyvind_Lilleberg Hmm, I haven’t received the diagnostics report, the ID that is given back should also look like this: 060f2807-0aa7-4ead-9998-86df91892c1f
Hi @Olivier67 It is planned, and I have a PoC, but it won’t be available soon. I’m busy with other non-homey related projects at the moment and have little spare time to continue working on that widget. If someone else is willing to give it a try, I’m happy to review it
Working on ten different thinks at once, so no Homey stuff for the coming week or two
