Ajax systems integration to complement home security

I think it remains a vain hope.
When Ajax reports something, they point to Homey, and vice versa. A year later, there is still no link.

Unfortunately, because with this prospect, I did not make the investment…

Is it time to start working with hard contacts and build something myself?

@Doekse I have been following this tread due to personal intrests for a while. I was wondering what the actual state on ajax integration is.

I understand that there are some pending questions around the api(-design), but I am wondering if you could explain if that effectively means the entire api/documentation as a whole unusable or if there are also aspects that could already be used.

I mean, even a partial integration to some extent is better than nothing in my own opinion. If there’s some possibility that information about the api could be shared (nda?) I’d even be willing to offer a second pair of eyes.

Strange, I have used nodered with the SIA to MQTT function and send the MQTT to the broker, both running on my NAS, and then use the MQTT client in homey which works just fine.

But of course it would be much easier if I can use your app to have ajax directly in Homey, but I can’t get this to work at all, whatever I do the connection to ‘meldkamer’ in the ajax app stays disconnected.

Only differences are of course different IP address, objectnumber is 0000 instead of 000, and encryption is on, however if I set the IP to my homey, change the object to 000 and disable the encryption, I can’t get the connection to work. If I revert back the connection to my nas works immediately again.

Any ideas?

Hi Arjan,

The SIA DC09 doesn’t support encryption yet.
The setting below must be set as:

Monitoring station ping interval: 1 minute

Connect on demand: On

Encryption: Off

If this doesn’t work then check the portnumber in the ajax app and homey app are the same. If this is also correct then check if the ajax hub ip can communicate directly to homey.

Kind regards
Niels

yeah that’s what I already had, I have been messing around for over an hour and no luck, but I disconnected and reconnected the hub completely to give it one more try, and now it works

Strange because I did not have to do that if I changed the port or IP address before, but as long as it works I’m happy, thanks for the app!

Great to hear that it works.

This morning the connection was lost after a firmware update of homey, it did not reconnect by itself, and I had to restart the app many times before it would reconnect again, is it normal behaviour that you have to restart the app after a homey restart?

One more question, I know that if the ajax doorbell is pressed, it is also sending a message to the SIA protocol, is this also something you can implement in the app?

The SIA App doesn’t need to restart after homey restart. My homey has also been updated and the app reconnected by itself.

If the doorbell sends a sia message please make a flow for me as below and send me a screenshot of the message received on a doorbell message.

What is the current state on the api integration does anybody know?

I configured it the way it was recommended but it is only halfway working. The alarm state on the Homey is continuously switching between Disarmed, Perimeter armed, and Armed.

Is this a known issue with a solution for?

Hi

The only posibility for this problem is that the alarm is sending SIA notifications to the app for the alarmstate. So please make the flow and see if the app is receiving the SIA messages from the alarm. If you get the notifications from the alarm then i think you can ask the Ajax support for help on this.

I set everything up again from scratch, including your automation, and then it worked as it should. Thank you for your quick reply and assistance.

Still no dice?

Unfortunately, no

Pitty, I did see that on the home assistant front there’s a developer who seems to have a working case, though it being via proxy which would be an issue for homey I reckon ?

In addition to the Ajax Security app, you can also create an account for the Ajax Security Pro app. This will give you more options.

When you click on your device and go to settings, you can enter an ID under security that will be sent to the monitoring center.

Maybe that will help?

There is plenty of others with integration aswell. Akuvox for example. Looks like its just not a priority for homey.

According to ajax there’s no info regarding homey pro integration with Ajax.

@Doekse kan this be made by Homey  https://youtu.be/gV-XjzMHNuc
That would be verry nice.

Still waiting for updates, would be great to progress with this.
