New here and migrating from Vera that I have had since 2010. I just added the Yale app and added my first dead bolt with no issues. When I try and lock or unlock the dead bolt with the app I get an error message that says “Missing Capability Listener locked or unlocked” depending on what I choose. Not sure what to do next.

Hi and welcome!

I’m not familiar with Yale locks, but you can contact the app developer.
The relevant contact options can be found in the App Store: [Yale Digital Lock App for Homey | Homey](https://homey.app/en-de/app/com.yale.lock/Yale-Digital-Lock/)

Still have not heard back from support. Purchased a new Yale Assure Lock 2 deadbolt model 450. It works fine in the Yale app but I have been unable to add it to Homey Pro. Are there specific instructions to add it?

As I already mentioned, I’m not familiar with Yale locks.
Have you checked the App Store if this model is supported by Homey?
Have you searched the forum?
The instructions how to add a device are normally displayed when you add the device.

I posted again hoping to get a response from anyone that has had luck. My original post was for the touch screen deadbolt which is supported in the Yale app in Homey. Since I did not hear back from support I figured I would try there new Assure Lock 2 which does not show up as a supported lock in the app. There are other post here where people where able to get it to work. Perhaps I should have created a new post. I was not meaning to ask you since you did not know about Yale locks. I reached out to another person here that posted about an issue to see how they where able to get it to work. thanks

I just got off the phone with Yale Support and they tell me that even though the Assure Lock 2 is Z-Wave capable (the module I bought mine with) it is only compatible with a select few platforms, and Homey is not one of them, yet ironically Hubitat is. I find this very hard to believe and quite frustrating. I guess I am going to have to use HomeKit or some other mechanism to bridge it over to Homey/Home Assistant.

I find myself in the same situation with an Assure 2 w Z-Wave. I went Z-Wave for battery life, so WiFi is not an ideal option. Did you figure out a workaround?

I had been using Vera since 2009 and never had a problem adding Z-Wave devices over the years. Surprised that the latest version of the Yale lock will not work with the app that yale provided to Homey. I wish I had saved the box so I could have returned the lock. The lock does work fine using the stand alone yale app but that is not what I bought it for.

Was anyone able to get their Assure lock 2 to work in Homey Yet? Yale doesn’t seem to update their app at all with new products nor are they likely to respond to requests to add support

Hi,

Z-wave and zigbee locks are not supported. We only support WiFi. And we will not provide future for them in the near future. Sorry for the inconvenience

I will be closing this ticket, but if you’re in need of additional support in the future please do not hesitate to send us a new email!

Best regards,

Jarno Sweers

As of Homey update v13.2.0, Z-Wave support for controlling door locks has been added to the Homey Pro and Homey Pro mini. I have Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch locks, and added the AYR-MOD-ZW3-USA Z-Wave module (v2.40.0). I was able to connect this to the Homey Pro via Z-Wave, and the lock and unlock functions do work. Wish there was a cheaper way to get this working.

Can you provide a little detail of the process you followed? I have the same hardware as you do and I can’t seem to get Homey to recognize my Assure 2 Zwave lock. I’m sure it’s user error.

Sure! The Yale Z-wave Smart Module v2.40.0 came with some instructions, which basically state to take the batteries out before installing the Z-wave module, and put them back once the module is installed. Then input the programming code (I found this in the Yale app), and then press 7, gear, 1, gear, to put it in inclusion mode. Then in Homey, I added a new device using Z-wave. Once it detected the lock I was prompted to put in the DSK. After that, Homey went through the normal add process (name it, place it in an area, pick an icon, etc.). I didn’t realize that Smart Start was supported, so I did not try to use that.

For creating flows, you are going to want the node ID, which can be found in Homey devices under the lock settings. In the picture I’ve attached, you can see my node ID is 5 for that particular lock. And you’ll likely need to use these Z-wave command class frames to lock and unlock the door using flows:
Lock = 0x62, 0x01, 0xFF
Unlock = 0x62, 0x01, 0x00

It’s not as seamless as it could be with a dedicated app, but it works fine once setup. The biggest downside is cost of these expensive locks, plus another $100 for the Z-wave module. Also, I’m not able to see the locks battery percentage in Homey.

Hey there, new to Homey Pro and this thread… like others, I have some old Yale Assure deadbolts I want to add to Homey Pro. They worked great on Habitat, no issues. But they won’t add to Homey. I’m gathering from this thread probably because I’m on the old Green Zwave plus module, but it sounds like if I upgrade to the black v3 version you are mentioning above, they will work? AYR-MOD-ZW3-USA ? With generic Zwave
