I have a Zooz water sensor. I created a flow. The flow works when I test it. When I put the water sensor in water the led blinks, indicating it noticed the water. I have left the sensor in water for 15 minutes since it is set to check every 5. I do not get an alert. What could be going wrong?

The Zooz sensor is not actively connected appearantly, or partly broken, or a (too) bad battery,. First check the sensor itself, if it sets an alarm as device in the Homey app.
Also, you can check it’s status here
[https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/zwave](https://tools.developer.homey.app/tools/zwave)

Otherwise, report an issue to the developer, you can find support links at the app page @ homey.app store

Yes, because then you replace the trigger with the test button. So, _the part of the flow after the trigger card_ works.
When the trigger is the issue, testing the flow makes no sense, while it can’t test the trigger

Maybe item 5 here gives the reason?

Maybe it works only by contact with water?

So, in the developer tool I get " [Transmit\_complete\_no\_ack](https://community.homey.app/t/transmit-complete-no-ack/68858)". I’m just two meters from the homey hub ao I doubt it’s caused by distance and the battery is fine.
I’m not sure how to check if it sets an alarm as a device in Homey? Is that independent of flows?

I figured the tsting would not test te initial trigger, but it’s good to know for sure!

I’m testing it in water and right next to the hub, unfortunately.

Just to be clear, if your device is _submerged_ in water, the water might be blocking the signal from it.

The sensor might be at one end of the device so can trigger when it’s touching water without being submerged.

Sorry if you didn’t need that clarification,

Andy

I suspect the problem with the zooz leak sensors is in zooz app.

I have two zooz (zse42) sensors, both had been problematic to pair but once paired they only report battery but not leak. Honey pro shows a status of “-“ with last update 54 years.

As a developer this is suspect to having a null variable in the zooz app code. Honey displays “-“ for null Boolean, and 54 years because this is the start of time for Homey. (Microsoft starts in 1975).

For me the Developer tool site shows the z-wave connected. However a clue to why water sensor does not work comes from the devices area of the developer tools site.

Find the device, at the bottom in the capabilities section. Under the ID are two capabilities. “Measure\_battery” which has a value of 100% for me. The second is “alarm\_water” as a Boolean with a null value. Null is not a valid Boolean value. This is means a variable in code is not set.

This is easy to do with JavaScript programming. If zooz fixes a publishes the fix this will fix the broken water leak sensors.

If this is the problem zooz needs to do better testing before releasing code.

Are you sure this is the card from the Zooz sensor and not from the washing machine?

It looks pretty much like the Zooz trigger, Jan

I just picked up a few of these sensors this past week and was having the same issue. Was there a work around that you can share with a dummy? thanks

Suddenly Zooz zse42 leak sensor started working! i noticed a Zooz update was installed then finally I remembered to test the sensor that I tossed in the drawer, figuring an update would one day fix it.

I contacted Zooz and Homey a few weeks ago. They updated the app and it is fixed.
