Hi all!

I’m new here. But have worked as a programmer for two decades or so.

I find the Virtual Devices Modus feature very interesting. Especially because it works so well with Homeydash.
I have crawled through everything about Virtual Devices in this forum. And the old one… But I cannot find any posts on this.

What is the difference between

1. Turn on
2. Turn mode on
3. Set mode on, no trigger

and off, respectively.

I would understand if there only were 2. and 3. But with 1. in the mix I’m confused.

Anyone care to explain?

Did you ever find out? I’m still wondering… 🤔

No, not really.

But I managed to achieve what I was looking for by trial and error (mostly error 🙂 ): A set of distinct modes like i.e. Holiday, At Home.

I would very much like somebody to explain this properly.

> It s little more tricky. One thing to add: A flow can be triggered with the default trigger-cards ‘mode on|off’ or the custom trigger cards: ‘mode is on|off’. They work similar, but the big difference is that the custom trigger cards are not triggered when the mode is set in another flow with the action-cards ‘Set mode on|off, no trigger’. Apparently, there was a bug initially, but now it seems to work as intended: [image]
