# Update Variable

I’m looking for a way to update a variable using a token.

**See this example:**

This is what I want, to get the operation of the flow to calculate this and then update.

You are not allowed to update tokens/variables of other devices or apps. That is only possible by applying actions to the devices.

I want to update a global logical variable with the value of a token .

Add a logic card to the Then section

You can tap on the tag icon to select a tag

It’s about how this is programmed behind what the app itself does, but this is the basis of what I actually want to achieve.
