# Struggling with the basic flows

Hi  
New Homey user. Was getting really frustrated trying to integrate all makes and types of devices in HA so bout the Homey Pro. been pretty successful at getting the devices into Homey but boy am I struggling with my first flow! I simply want to turn on a light (through Aqara wall switch) using an Aqara motion sensor and have it turn off when the sensor stops detecting motion.  
I set up a flow with the basis alarm on as trigger to put the light on and an alarm off to put the light off.  
Im obviously missing something basic in the transition from automations in HA and Aqara to Homey.  
Can anyone give me a helping hand with this to get me started

If you are trying to put both triggers in a single, simple flow, that won’t work. You’ll need a flow for each trigger.

Much better, however, to use an ‘advanced’ flow. That way you can describe the responses to the ‘motion detected’ and ‘no motion detected’ triggers in a single flow. Don’t be put off by the “advanced” bit, they are pretty straightforward.

If you search the forum you’ll find examples that take into account sunrise/sunset, time of day, of light levels.

If you want more specific help, you’ll need to show your flow(s).

Spent a lot of time searching through the community and succeeded in getting a working solution. I’m sure I’ll be back with more beginners questions later but I’m on my way!!
