Homey is a great european product.
But there are many other smart products that are also european (you might not even be aware)

Just ran into [this site](https://www.goeuropean.org/) and found out many devices connected to homey are also european.
(While I thought they were chinese or american)

Unfortunaletely LG headquarters is not in europe, so Athom dropped off the list…
(But the heart of homey is in europe 😉)

We still operate independently from LG. While they are a major stakeholder in Athom B.V., the company continues to be run from our headquarters in Enschede, the Netherlands. You can hear more about this in our [latest podcast](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBY8dSdQGmM)😉

What is the issue? Most “European” smart products are made in Asia and just relabelled or packed in a European box.

If they add at least something to ensure safety standards, keep data in a pure EU-based and owned data server, etc. that could be an added value.

I don’t want to make any assumptions about anyone. I just hope that nobody here wants a _MAGA_ copy for Europe.
Best regards Dirk
